happen to passby this joint, what makes me decide to pay an entry is not the majority good review but the complaint that dish out by certain individuals.

personal view stats as below

service : 3/5. normal SOP, nothing much to ponder about.

drinks : 5/5. Ume Highball is rare stuff, Kirin draft beer is plus point.

food : 4/5. food is normal with taste cannot complain. the minus point is no grill squid due to no ready stock.

as for most of the japanese food lover, this joint is not your BAOKARLIAO type of japanese restaurant. so you will never able to find a huge and wide selection of menu here. IZAKAYA is a drinking place, if you are here to fill your stomach with cheap price food and green tea then you will end up in disappointment.

In JAPAN, salarymen will gather in IZAKAYA after work to start with few glasses of beer, and skewers serve together with sake or highball. So when they are done with IZAKAYA will move to RAMEN stall to have a bowl in order to pull themself up before going home. And that explain the RAMEN inside SANZARU menu.

I would come back again maybe at a less hectic time. Took awhile for the door waiter to realise I was a customer (he sort of just stared at me like I was invisible for a couple moments). The table I was seated at was right under a leaking air cond unit this wasn't on the sides where it was easily ignored my table was smacked dabbed in the center of the establishment. Ordering was fine though it took awhile to get the attention of the waiters but they were busy who could blame them. Food arrived at a quick rate but the Gyoza was fairly watered down, their ramen was acceptable but the pork belly were alittle tough. Filling though. Price was fair. As all izakaya you should probably stick to the skewers and alcohol. Atmosphere wise the customers make it feel like a real izakaya but the establishment is like any and every "Japanese" restaurant in Malaysia.
