I recently had the pleasure of visiting Old Nanyang @ Bukit Jalil for the first time. The moment I stepped in, I was transported to a bygone era with its charming and nostalgic vibes. The menu was like a treasure trove of deliciousness, and I struggled to pick just one dish because everything looked incredibly tempting.

Finally, I settled on their famous lard rice, and boy, oh boy, it was a flavor explosion! The fragrant rice cooked in luscious lard, paired with juicy meat and veggies, was like a party in my mouth. One of the better ones if you ask me.

Of course, I couldn't leave without trying their signature kopi. Let me tell you, this coffee had a personality of its own! The bold and unique flavor took my taste buds on a wild ride. It was like a caffeinated roller coaster.

Now, brace yourself for a little secret: the place was packed when I visited. Apparently, everyone else has discovered this food haven too! But fear not, despite the crowd, the staff were on their A-game, keeping everything running smoothly. The lively atmosphere added to the fun, and I felt like I was part of a delicious adventure.

I'm a regular at this restaurant and this place is a bit of hit-or-miss. Since the rebranding, the food tastes better, the prices are cheaper, and the menu seems to have expanded. All good things.

It is mostly staffed by foreigners, so while there's a bit of language barrier, you'll notice that they try their best to deliver good service.

However, THE NUMBER OF FLIES (omg)!!! The dining experience here is not good at all. Usually, when you first enter, there's a strange smell. Perhaps it's the serai-based cleaner that they use or just the general disinfectant, but it reminds me of a pet store. You will also notice that all the flies in Bukit Jalil would love to come hang out in this restaurant. You will be swatting flies off every meal.

The cleanliness of the restaurant could also use a lot of work. I've noticed on more than one occasion that cups got lip stains and "clean" cutleries have sauce from the previous user.

Overall, if you're not the picky type and want to test your immune system, this place is convenient and price is reasonable. But I can't go highly recommending this place until they've fixed some very...
