Sri Ayutthaya Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I’ve been a patron to this place many years ago during its hay days. Now I can safely say it’s in the NAY days.. just horrid, sadly to say.

When I entered the restaurant it reminded me by the good old days but slowly realised that there nobody at all, even it being a weekend night. Nonetheless I proceed to try it out again…

Ambience - no aircon, warm, smells funny maybe due to the old setup and furniture.

Service - good and commendable as the Indonesia chap who served us was very very polite and sincere with the shortcomings

Food - I’m pretty sure that was the worse Thai food I have eaten. Let me break it down

steam fish Thai style - the fish stink and was not fresh, very very small sized. The gravy had a funny iron taste salted egg yolk sotong - sotong used was likely from the cheap frozen food department . Plasticky and rubbery and tasteless . minced beef with Basil leafs - beef had strong beef taste and it was overcooked, a bit charred tomyam seafood - as you can already guess, all the seafood mentioned above was dumped into a bowl with paste n mixed together .. bad …just bad omelette - the best of the lot, decent .

As such I can safely say, after eating , I know why there were only 2 tables occupied when I visited …

One of the worst Thai food place.

Plates and cutleries arranged neatly on the table to begin with, but who knows actually they are oily and stained with dried food bits 🤢

We were waiting more than 20 minutes for our food (3 dishes - kangkung belacan, prawn omelette and green curry)

Kangkung Belacan was requested as “less spicy” it came bland but just spicy 😒

Prawn omelette was so so, not much prawn can be sighted, just a plain (overpriced) fried egg

Green curry was super lemak, soo much santan inside that it doesnt look green like usual green curry, taste more like milky “green curry” flavoured carbonara, will make you super jelat

Ordered Red Ruby dessert to tone down the spiciness from the kangkong belacan, this one also can go wrong 🤦🏻‍♀️ No santan flavour at all (prob santan finished because they pour everything in the green curry), not sweet at all and the jackfruit bits is sourish, fizzy and taste fermented！🤮

Total above we paid RM105. Will never come back even in my dream.

If tomorrow I laosai terberak i sure know...

Worst Thai food! Very disappointed! Years ago visit before their Wangsa Maju outlet, that experience is good. Always have cravings with Thai food, thinking to enjoy a so call 'premium thai food' here for some celebration. Let me share how bad is this: Milk coffee in the photo taste like it is made from 99% sweetener! So call 'Premium Dessert' shown in the photo, the transparent thing on top some people call it 'sea bird nest' is too hard! Jackfruit is totally not fresh! Where is the quality control!? Ordered a Tom Yom chicken but they serve tom yum seafood, it's ok, we accept without feedback to them. Thing to highlight is, the whole bowl of tom yum seafood is totally NOT fresh! Very disappointed!!! Deep fried soft shell crab a bit too salty & oily. Overall still consider as nice.

Except, Oyster omelette taste good.
