Japanese Fusion Restaurant but not much fusing actually (maybe at most 5% of the menu). Just that they sell both Japanese and Western (separate dishes) food that's all.
They have good marketing but I think they need to focus more on delivering quality food as it's definately below average for its prices and quantity. A lot of comments are from first time customers that give higher than actual ratings due to first time customers freebies. Prices below yet to include Service Charges and Taxes.
Atmosphere: 4.25🌟 This Cafe strong point. Comfy and spacious 2 lot shops with huge spaces between tables especially the inner seats. There's also a side stone chair seats. The interior design is pretty good, neat and clean and has background music. Unfortunately, the place seems to be very noisy (not able to absorb noise well) eventhough there's not a lot people. At peak hours, due to the super high rating from the membership campaign and freebies, there's quite a bit crowd so won't be able to hang out much.
Service: 1🌟 Service was okay initially until they asked customers to leave as there are people lining up. Actually, this is agreeble to free up seats but the thing is there's only 1 pair (2 person) customer waiting for table but there are 2 free tables (1 which is not yet cleaned) which they could have used. This is then a very bad service. Maybe they need to get a senior manager staff to manage things better as it seems most of the staffs (if not all) are really young kids.
Food: Tori Katsu Don 2.25🌟 Fried Chicken 3.75🌟, Egg 2🌟, Rice & Sauce 1.5🌟 The chicken is nice, crispy bater and still juicy meat. However, the egg feels below average. Rice is nice but sauce is a let down, no flavour and fragrance to it. Not sure why the bowl is so small, it's so hard to scoop things out to eat without things spilled out and things fall into the table when you are eating. Priced at Rm 18.90++
Drinks: Matcha Latte (Iced) 2🌟 Not much Matcha flavour and hardly any coffee flavor, just feel some sweetness. Need to self stir/blend properly else you will be drinking matcha powder at the bottom of the glass. Priced at Rm 12++
Snacks: Takoyaki Balls 2🌟 6 balls but can't feel the tako fillings, mostly just eating flour. Has quite a bit of sauce and condiments added to enhance the much needed flavour as the cooking seems below average as it could have cooked a bit more till it's more crispy (texture wise) and charred. Priced at Rm 11.90++ (Complimentary due to Insta Follow)
Drinks: Latte (Hot) 2.5🌟 Nice design, looks like a pretty swan. However, the flavour seems below average as there's not a lot of fragrance. Priced at Rm 10++ quite pricey for a small cup. (Complimentary...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Zen &Co and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance that instantly transported me to Japan.
The service at Zen & Co was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They were more than happy to answer any questions I had and made excellent recommendations. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their customers truly stood out.
Now, let's talk about the food. The carbonara I ordered was out of this world. It had the perfect balance of flavors, with creamy sauce and just the right amount of smokiness from the bacon. It was evident that the dish was prepared with great skill and attention to detail.
For dessert, I indulged in the lava cake, and it was nothing short of heavenly. The warm, gooey chocolate center combined with the rich, moist cake was a perfect ending to my meal. And the matcha ice latte was the ideal companion, with its smooth and refreshing taste.
I also had the opportunity to try some other dishes on the menu, and each one was a delightful culinary adventure. From the fresh and flavorful sushi rolls to the perfectly grilled teriyaki chicken, every bite was a testament to the chef's expertise.
Overall, my experience at Zen & Co was truly memorable. The combination of exceptional service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere made for an unforgettable dining experience. I highly recommend [Restaurant Name] to anyone looking for an authentic and outstanding Japanese...
