As many said, it is nice to eat while it is hot. Thank to especially the aroma of the Gula Melaka that makes the kuih tastes nice.
However, if it is not your lucky day, you have to queue as worst as 60 minutes to taste the kuih. It was not my lucky day, I guessed, I queued for 1hour 45mins to buy 20pcs after 3rd round making & frying kuih. During the queuing, I have a perception that the queuing was ignored and seems like normal to the owner, it is Ok for the customers to walk away if not able to wait. Thus, only 3 out of 5 stars deserved.
Based on my observation, the most constraint process is the making & frying the kuih process, lots of queuing was wasted due to this. Besides, there was only 1 person who put & counted the kuih into paper bags, packed up into plastic carrying bag and then collect/change the cash from customers.
My advice/ proposal to the owner of the business to improve the queuing to gain potential expansion of business opportunities (zero consultation fee needed ya):
Compare to last time, big umbrellas have been setup for those queuing. This is mot good enough. The owner should allows the customers to pay upfront, gets queuing number and be seated inside the shop (can setup a small areas for take away). This will make yse the queuing time and at the same time the owner can foresee how many pieces of kuih are waiting to prepare to serve hot.
Put/Count/Pack into paper bag can be done by 1 person while need to have 2nd person to focus on loading paper bags into carrying bags for customers to speed up the process.
Didn't see what was behind the making & frying process but believe this could have similar scenario where the efficiency is...
Read moreThis place has received a lot of hype. After 70mins of waiting in line under the hot ☀, we finally got our hands on these famous kuih keria and they were so goood! BUT, I wouldn't go through the whole experience again. Parking is a mess, motorists are blocking ongoing traffic with little regard for others 'cos all of them want to be parked as close to the stall as possible. No one seems to know if this stall has any semblance of a sale system, people just seem to wait till the kerias make their appearance from the kitchen. When asked, all I got was, "kena tunggu kejap (you've got to wait for a bit)" Because of the long wait and demand, they only limit 2 bags(20pcs) per customer. If you have the time and patience, RM12 bucks for flourless kerias is probably worth the wait. Just be sure to wear your sunnies, bring umbrellas and bottled water and hope it doesn't rain while you wait in line. Leave your young...
Read moreI had been eating kuih keria since I was a little kid and always being my favourite kueh. But this one looked more like a donut than a keria. It tasted of course more like a keria than donut :)
For me it was like a fusion but since a lot of people buying so I have to reluctantly accepted it as a keria. If we were to ask our top Chefs I would not think they would say it was a keria by look.
This keria for me was too soft for an original keria (if we were to rate as best keria in town). Most of commercial keria now days are a bit hard and used normal potato instead of sweet potato and coated with hard dried sugar.
I found one of the best was near Balai Polis Bandar Hilir (Perhentian Kueh Kg) and a small restaurant near Pengkalan Kubur. They made original kueh keria but nobody viral them as the best keria in the country.
Anyway good experience queuing here for more than 1 hour for a so...
