Since TO had never been to Lele, we decided to return—just so she could experience it herself. . Honestly? We went in with zero expectations. And maybe that’s for the best. . Here’s what we ordered: Four Heavenly Kings (RM10 – near duck rice stall) Surprisingly, it had bitter gourd as one of the "kings"—a first for us. Not appetising at all, and unfortunately, not to our taste. . Sweet & Sour Pork (RM14 – near duck rice stall) It was okay. Edible, but nothing memorable. Just your average sweet and sour pork. . Bak Kut Teh with Yam Rice (RM17 – side entrance stall) Too salty. We had to ask for hot water to dilute it. Service was alright though, staff were responsive. . Fried Egg with Okra (RM6 – BKT stall) The balance was off—too much okra, too little egg. A thinner slice of okra and fluffier egg ratio would definitely help. . Cili Garam with Rice (RM11 – near duck rice stall) This one was overly spicy and dry. It became a struggle just to swallow, stinging the throat with each bite. . We’ve basically tried most of what Lele has to offer now. To be honest, the pull to come back is getting weaker. Unless the food quality improves, it’s more of a been-there-done-that. Still—no regrets bringing TO. At least now she gets what the hype was. . . JSE@20250725 . I ordered: Asam Pedas Pari Fish – RM15 White Rice – RM2 Coconut Juice – RM6 . And honestly? A truly disappointing meal. . 🥲 Asam Pedas (RM15) This was the biggest letdown. Awfully sweet. It doesn’t match the bold, sour-spicy punch that asam pedas is known for. Totally off. If this is a personal twist, at least label it clearly—“chef’s sweet version” or something. Otherwise, it just feels misleading. . 🍚 Rice (RM2) Plain and forgettable. Still edible, but nothing to write home about. . 🥥 Coconut Juice (RM6) Usually my go-to. Why? Because it’s chilled, refreshing, and stored in the fridge. But today? Room temperature. Zero chill, zero joy. Oldman's drink. May be its due to rising TNB rates—so they’ve stopped refrigerating. But if it tastes like any random stall's warm coconut water, why should I pay RM6 for it? . 💬 Final thoughts: What used to be a decent meal turned into a frustrating experience. No flavor, no value, no effort. Sometimes, cost-cutting shows—and it ruins everything. . . JSE@20250629 . When I was feeling low, the universe lit up around me. We just wanted to chill. A hot drink. Maybe something cold to cool the fire inside me. . But life had other plans. . We stumbled into Lele Food Court’s grand opening—by pure coincidence. And suddenly, we were swept into celebration. 🦁 Five lion dances roared to life. 🔥 Firecrackers cracked the sky, smoke curling around us like a spell. 🛐 A deity’s blessing ceremony added a sacred touch. The smell of gunpowder filled the air—sharp, acrid, strangely comforting. . In that moment, even our hot Milo felt small compared to the explosion of joy around us. . ✨ Sometimes, the world gives you a little spark when you need it most. . To Lele Food Court— Congratulations on your grand opening. May your space be filled with laughter, good food, and warm hearts. And may the Cheng community flourish with what you bring to the table. . . JSE@20250626 . Here’s what we ordered today: 🥥 Coconut (RM6) Ice-cold, refreshing, and exactly what we needed. Simple, but perfect. One of the best we’ve had—hands down. . 🥗 Sotong Kangkong (RM10) A total crowd-pleaser. Loaded with nuts, kangkong, and tender sotong. Well-balanced, generous, and satisfying. Definitely on our repeat list. . 🍜 Wat Tan Hor (RM8) Surprise of the day—cooked by an Indonesian chef who doesn’t speak Chinese, yet nailed the wok hei like a pro. The kuey teow was rich, smoky, and flavorful. We’re already eyeing his other dishes—humble chef, big talent. . ✅ Will we return? Without a doubt. 👫 Recommend to friends? No need to ask—already doing...
