Came with family on a weekday night for dinner en route back home from our holiday and the first impression of entering the restaurant was, the staffs seemed unwelcoming to guests, as in just come in find a table yourself and get seated. Which is what we did.
While we were settling down, a lady captain came to take our order and my first question was, “do you have a menu?” Her answer was “No.” So I asked then what dishes do you recommend then? She just said “oh we have chicken, pork, fish, seafood and many more.” At that point I was very annoyed, if I wasn’t familiar with Chinese dishes at all, I would be so lost. The least she could do was to recommend some dishes for first time customers. Everything that comes out of her mouth has that “I’m so annoyed to be here” attitude. I have to constantly prompt her to tell me more about what dishes they have and it was always a one liner answer from her so to be safe, I ordered typical dishes like the Ice Ku Lou Yuk, Minced Meat Tofu, Stir Fry Vege and the Marmite Chicken Wings which are kid friendly.
While waiting for our order, as we are seated near the counter, the lady boss behind the counter decided to blast her phone at full volume while watching some video, totally oblivious that there are guests in near proximity. So I gestured to my husband should we change our table so that we could be away from the noise, thankfully she got the hint and lowered her volume down.
The food came pretty quickly, it was pretty good I have to say, a stark difference from the service though. And I ordered these dishes without even knowing the price as there was no menu. When the bill came, it was quite reasonably priced to my surprise, my kids enjoyed the Ice Ku Lou Yuk a lot but if the lackluster service continues like this, don’t think we will be back for another round. I gave one star for the food and another for...
Read moreI never had any pleasant experience here. The food is nice no doubt. But the management skill is really poor. For instance, the dishes that you have ordered will come first, but the cutleries will not be available nor the rice. You’ll have to wait. Patiently wait or probably request a few times before they really give you what you need. By time you have your rice and cutleries, the dishes will be cold. I’m not even joking. It has happened to my family multiple times.
Another example would be, they’ll probably missed out one of your orders and serve them last. By that I mean after you finished your meal. It has happened. We requested for them to cancel the last dish since it wasn’t served and it has already took more than enough time for them to prepare it. But it came after we finished our food.
Honestly the food is nice but I think the whole service that you’ll be...
Read moreWe savored a spread of eight dishes in this restaurant in Seremban, this town is not usually celebrated for its food: stewed pork leg with chicken feet, meat-filled fried rolls, fried kang kong, “dance” chicken, iced sweet and sour pork, steamed ikan baung, tofu-encased minced pork and a dessert tong sui . Yee Sang was compliments from the house. The offerings were pleasantly palatable with a hint of sweetness, all provided at reasonable prices with commendable service. The steamed fish and iced sweet and sour pork were the highlights; the fish’s delicate and firm texture was well-matched by the nuanced, earthy soy sauce. The iced sweet and sour pork’s crispiness was ingeniously preserved by a crystalline glaze, likely from being dipped in syrup and air-dried, forming a barrier against the...
