Went there with my younger sister and father to buy a slice of cake, just for tea time. My sister had cravings for one since the cafe ran out of cake on her birthday. She kept the money to buy a slice so it was a little special. We went there and it was full, peak hours. We chose the cake and waited. After 5 minutes, my dad asked a person who is just standing by the counter, "No one is going to serve us, miss?" and she said, "Hold on, she's points to another person who is busy heating pies and cutting cakes going to serve you, " And we waited because that was how it was supposed to be. 10 minutes passed, the person behind the cake shelf already served a pie, three slices of cakes in a plate and ready to take our order. Not until a guy with his big muscular body and voice, coming out of nowhere, technically cut our line, voicing his orders. He wanted two slices of red velvet cake. I was very shocked but oh dear, am I just a girl. My father (who were unsatisfied by the time the 'standing behind the counter' girl answered him like that and rushed out the store to avoid making a scene) rushed again into the store and asked us to just leave. He was angry that the workers there treat us sisters like that and saw that another person just simply took our turn. Based on this experience, (not once, but triple times already, mind you) this cafe should boost up its service and respect every customer that comes. Be polite and don't judge the customers. Just have good service is all. Few things I point out: firstly, when it's busy, peak hours, why don't you give a helping hand? Even if it isn't your duty or area in charge, don't leave the customers just waiting like a fool, a beggar. Ask them, "How can we help you today? Please hold on, we'll get back right to you in a moment," is it difficult? if it is, don't bother establishing a business. Secondly, every customer is equal. Maybe because the customers were two timid looking girl, the service can be hold aside and expected us to just accept it and go ahead serve other first who may cause a scene if the service is late. Well, big no. You don't have a queue there but it's your work ethic to understand "first come, first serve". Simple yet so complicated to you. Finally, have respect. If you see another customer just cut the queue, politely tell them. Starbucks do that, other places do that. This is no pasar malam. Unless, you are. That's all from me, hope you learn at least something! Going there again just to make sure. Just...
Read moreHad a disappointing experience at Secret Recipe today. Intan (as stated on the receipt) with thin body and bright skin was rude and unprofessional. clearly lacks basic customer service training.I understand weekends can be busy, but that’s no excuse for poor attitude. She spoke to me like I was her friend, with zero respect and even raised her voice when I forgot which cake I ordered (cause I had ordered 4slices). Why not just check with the staff preparing the order instead of raising voices? no smile, no ‘thank you’ at all. In the end, I was the one saying thank you to her, even though I was the customer spending my money there. This kind of service is unacceptable, especially when we’re spending our money at your outlet. And your outlet looks so dark, have a revamp i know im not the only one who complaint about the...
Read moreVery rude staff. I ordered red velvet supreme and the staff (a guy) heard it wrongly and started writing on a regular red velvet. When I noticed and corrected them he said "if u said red velvet you'll get red velvet!". I told him calmly that I said red velvet supreme and he probably did not hear me due to the crowd and mask. He insisted that I told him wrongly. Why would I order something that was not displayed? 😑 Seriously improve on your staff's training. If you can't admit your mistakes or be nice then get a different job where u don't have to face people. Also the writing on the cake was ugly. 3 year old kids can...
