long story here: went on a weekday somewhere in this month. had a terrible experience where the waitress sent a food to us without telling us what it was and it was our first time here, we thought it was the sandwich that we ordered so naturally we eat the food la right? how can u expect us not to eat when it is dy served to us right? so yeah we proceeded eating until the waitress came and sent us another sandwich and told us the name of the sandwich that we ordered, we were like oh i thought the earlier one was the one we ordered and we ate already so how? then the waitress didn't know what to do so she went to her boss/supervisor then she came back again and told us because we ate the wrong one dy, can u pay for both the food?? ofc we were upset, we said it was not our fault that u sent the wrong food and we ate it and we never ordered it. then she went back to her boss/supervisor again, ermm by this time the boss/supervisor should approach to us for the matter dy right? why make the poor girl runinng around passing messages that she didn't know what to answer? then we were like huh we have to pay for both breads? but we can't finish both, then again she went to ask and came back, u know what she said?? she said then u all can tapao ah? we were like huh?? and looked at her and didn't say anything, she just stood there!! and didn't know what to do!! at the end, we paid for both breads and we didn't finish them. the waitress and the boss never apologise for anything
i have been a waitress myself and things like this happen to me too. we won't charge the food that we sent wrongly to the customers because it's our fault. and the bread that she sent wrongly was just rm6 for god sake! i have never seen a business like this. the boss never took any initiative to even approach us regarding the matter, maybe she doesn't care. it just made us feel like she wasn't sincere in the business
the food wise, the sandwiches range around rm15-rm18 which is quite expensive for simple ingredients like ham and cheese. its a half shop lot beside a saloon, i won't be going if the saloon is opened but it was early in the morning so it was okay. environment was decent, kaya butter bread was nice therefore it...
Read moreEmbarking on a culinary journey through the intricate flavors of Nyonya cuisine is always a treat, and my recent visit to this Nyonya restaurant was no exception. With great anticipation, I dived into a bowl of Nyonya Laksa, a dish that promises a symphony of flavors and a fragrant journey.
The Nyonya Laksa was served in a generous portion, topped with an array of condiments that tantalized the eye. Yet, I couldn't help but notice that the soup base, a crucial element in any laksa, seemed somewhat lacking in quantity. While the aroma of various herbs was delightful, the noodles below didn't quite have the pleasure of swimming in that rich, red, and lemak sea of flavor I had hoped for. It was as if the laksa had lost some of its soul despite the tantalizing fragrance.
Next up was the Char Koay Teow, a dish that had my expectations soaring. While it was certainly enjoyable, I couldn't help but feel that it lacked some of the vibrant and robust flavors that I associate with its non-halal counterparts. It was good but didn't quite reach the heights I had hoped for.
On a brighter note, the hot beverages were more than decent, offering a comforting warmth that complemented the dishes well. The soft-boiled eggs were impeccable, perfectly capturing that delightful balance between runny and creamy. The butter and kaya toast were equally spot on, evoking a sense of nostalgia and authenticity.
Overall, it was a satisfying meal, albeit the somewhat stiff pricing. The Nyonya experience, while not reaching the pinnacle of my expectations, still managed to offer a glimpse into the rich and intricate world of Nyonya cuisine. It was a journey of flavors, some soaring and some missing the mark, but all in all, a culinary adventure worth...
Read moreWhen I went with my family, it was during a working weekday : nice and quiet! The air cond felt sooo good vs the heat outside.
The food was fantastic, the 6 of us ordered 6 different dishes and everything was in order. Nasi Ulam came first and the aroma was sooo attractive I couldn't resist a bite. The Nasi 7 Benua is fun, each individually having different flavours, we had the chicken with it and normally my mom doesn't like chicken, but this? She slurrrpped it all up. Nyonya Laksa I personally don't like curry as much so I didn't taste it, hence I cannot attest for the taste, but I can guarantee that the ingredients portion is VERY generous! Spaghet! Spaghettiiii spaghheettiiiii. My sister had the Spaghetti Bolognese and I tried a bite, personally I liked it but my sister didn't like it very much? It was saucy and delectable enough for my taste! Cherry tomatoes are plump and juicy 😍 Myself! I had the Chili Garam Mee (I forgot the exact name) and it was super spicy, just the way I like it honestly, I even asked for extra sambal to follow! 🤤 Although, I have to say it was drier than I expected it, I had to sip the cham ping a lot while eating, not really a problem!
The service is extraordinary, anything that you ask for, the servers do their best to accommodate your requests. My brother is wheelchair bound and has diabetes, and the kitchen staff made sure to accommodate accordingly, serving him brown rice instead of the normal rice and also made sure that he was comfortable! After the food has been served they personally came and asked for feedback and I really liked that part, where they asked if there's any way to better...
