Happy Belly Cafe might not be visible from the outside as it's located on the first floor of the row of shops along the popular Jalan Chui Yin in Bentong. This stretch of road turns into night pedestrian street come evening (but this is story for another day).
When coming to Bentong, eating Korean food might be the last thing in mind given the popularity of this one-day trip town that takes less than an hour drive from KL but I did exactly that. The cafe is managed by a friendly lady who has relocated back from KL, and assisted by her family.
◾Korean Fried Chicken (Soy Honey Garlic) was crispy and coated with the sticky sweet & savoury gravy. ◾Kimchi Jjigae - kimchi pork stew with Korea rice proved to be a comfort food everytime. ◾Korean Pancake - I prefer my pancake to be slightly crispy on the outside but this one was not. ◾Coffee
While not authentically Korean if authentic is defined by "made by Korean", the food was fairly good.
