6 September 2018 - lunch at 1.30pm Great food and drinks - ordered wantan noodles (RM4.50) and it came loaded with crisp pork lard (chee yao char). Tasty and flavourful noodles with tender char siew but the star here is their wontons - taste of my childhood. The soup is made with loads of dried anchovies (kang her kia) and soybeans, very smooth.
Husband picked Yong Tau Hu pieces with chee cheong fun (rice rolls) that came with the usual sweet sauce and chilli sauce. Pretty good too! I HAD to order one strip of chee cheong fun for myself which I ate only with shallot oil and soy sauce - heavenly.
They also had fried chicken which looked good so I ordered a drumstick - it was delicious! The proprietress proudly said that the flour coating is a secret recipe and that they use only fresh chicken.
I ordered the 3-layer tea (cold) - gula melaka (brown coconut sugar syrup - but sadly theirs was the commercially prepared kind so it wasn’t as good) and a layer of milk followed by a layer of brown tea. Not too bad though.

The soup for the yong tau food is great too. They also serve curry with the...
