OWL Cafe — Restaurant in Pahang

My Malaysian partner had previously eaten at Owl (a western food restaurant), and we opted to dine-in quite late in the evening. Parking was right outside (watch for the dangerously uneven and poorly-lit entry path in the dark), and the restaurant is very large with large amounts of tables outdoors (under cover) and an airconditioned area. This was pre-Ramadan, so ample seating was available and at 10pm (about closing time) the restaurant was 90% empty. My partner opted for the chicken chop with black pepper sauce, and I chose the dual chicken chop with lamb chop option. With sweet potato fries and potato wedges as additional sides. Food portion size was large, both the main courses and the potato wedges. The chicken chop was fine, unfortunately the lamp chop was overcooked and inedible. Alcohol is available, but I chose a nice lychee juice soft drink and my partner the water melon juice. Inexplicably, the restaurant uses a delivery robot (inexplicably as it is also accompanied by a serving person), which sings a very annoying song about peanut butter - at least that lets you know it is approaching. Pricing of food was above mid-range for Malaysia, at around RM40 per (Western) main. The non-alcoholic drinks were slightly pricey, and from the menu the beer prices were reasonable (for Malaysia). The restaurant was rather empty without many customers.

Came at 7.40pm, placed order about 7.50pm. Ordered mixed grill salmon + chicken, and another mixed grill lamb + chicken. Waited and waited and waited for 1.5 hours. Everyone else’s order arrived. One by one. They had finished eating. And we were still waiting. A few of my friends who had placed order later than me had their food served earlier and also had finished eating. Asked the waiter if our order was otw, multiple times. And was told that they are preparing it. Went to the kitchen to check on my food with my own eyes. Was only about to be done. After 1.5 hours!!! I wonder how do they manage their kitchen and their orders??! It’s just a mixed grill? Do you need 1.5 hours to prep that?? Told the kitchen to cancel my order and that I won’t be paying for it.

Bad service, slow service. The manager needs to do something about the way the kitchen works. Very very very bad and please do not come again. I’m surprised this place had lasted this long.

We ordered 3 drinks and 3 meals at 7:02pm, the drinks were served fast (all served around 10 minutes after we dropped our order), BUT WE WAITED FOR 30 MIN MORE to get our first food - the fried rice. All other tables that came later than us also got the fried rice together. There were around 6 tables of customer that time where half of them were eating. Then, we thought our other foods will be served soon too until we lost our patience after 1 hour of waiting. After complaining to the counter, they finally gave us our meatball spaghetti, without the meatballs, telling the meatballs were still cooking 🌚 when we almost finished the spaghetti, the meatballs were finally here and look at it it's just fried meatballs 🌚 my parents were starving so I have to cancel the mixed chop and bring them for another dinner because I believe your meats are those haven't sembelih ones that need us to wait for...
