Restoran Hao Ming Seafood — Restaurant in Pahang

Having lived in Kuantan until I was about 6 (before moving to another district), I don't have much knowledge on what's good to eat whenever I'm back here. You see.. as a kid (even as adult now) I had to follow the "dai dui" (majority) or in my case, my family or relatives.

In turns out that there are many other good Chinese restaurants in Kuantan which I do not know of. Passed by many times but never thought to go in... Like this restaurant located along Jalan Air Putih (an area that I am most familiar of). Taking up two shoplots with one air conditioned and another one alfresco style, we managed to try a lot of dishes.

◾Dong po yuk - very good fat and lean meat ratio, and the sauce was good to wipe the rice with. ◾sweet & sour pork - crunchy on the outside and just the right size to chew with ◾Claypot pork belly with salted fish - nothing would go wrong if you use top grade salted fish to cook this dish. ◾Deep fried red snapper - more like "yao zham" which was blanched in oil on slow heat, the fish retained its moist and most importantly crunchy too! ◾Kangkung belacan - one of the most common dishes you'd see and one of my favourite too. ◾Deep fried calamari - too much batter for my liking but seeing all others cleaned up the plate, who am I to complain? ◾Sizzling Japanese taufu ◾Stir fried kailan

Overall the dishes were quite good and the hungry pack finished everything in less than 30 minutes. In terms of quality I'd still prefer Alor...

The lady boss was friendly and she had recommend us to try the fortune pomfret. The steam fish is fresh and yummy with its fish oil. The fried garlic pork is good as well but we didn't like the mantis prawn. Fast and good service too on Monday dinner. We are not able to get the seats at the aircon section since all pre booked.
