幸福大饭店/幸福楼 GRAND HAPPINESS RESTAURANT PLT — Restaurant in Penang

A chinese cuisine restaurant at the heart of BM town. An ordinary seating setup and the food is so-so, with NO major surprises or specialities except it's pork rib dish which is their named dish and it was delicious, tasty and the pork rib was done superbly finger licking good. Other than that all the dishes were averaged and edible. The Yee Sang is unattractive coz a few thinly piece of raw fish was available only and the steamed fish was kinda hard (loko). The Broccoli with money bags was attractive but the so called money bags was a dissappointment. Anyway, the Chicken Herbal Soup was aromatic, warm and deliciously made. Tasty food but overshadowed with endless of 'hidden' costs. This restaurant will take all chances to rip you off as maximizing her profit is no1 priority...Beware of everything served without your order as everything to be charged to your bill without your knowledge. Some dishes come in large portion which is impossible for two persons to finish. When we were shock to see the unexpected figures on the bill, we were told some dishes come in one size, the largest size, rather than customized to the number of customers. A very nice place to have your lunch and dinner. The taste, service and environment is pretty good as well. Especially the environment as I think the restaurant just had the store renovated. Price is quite reasonable. Average charges for a person is around MYR30 to MYR50 and it could be higher depends on what you order. However, there is a problem to worry about which is parking. You might need to park far away if you are attending a dinner. It is free to park but quite scary and dangerous to walk...
