Look, the nature of food courts nowadays is, the turnover of stalls is very high and frequent. If you're reading this about 6 months after the review was published, the stalls I mentioned might not exist anymore.
The F&B industry in Ipoh is cut-throat, no two ways about it. Once a brand spanking new food court opens, food operators leave their nest and flock there hoping for a boost in business. Old food courts will be left half-occupied, and the weaker ones are forced to close. Rinse, repeat.
GP is a chain food court operating in many areas in Ipoh, characterised by its large area and extra-large fans. This one is open for less than 2 years, and has more or less settled into a steady state. On a Saturday lunch hour, less than half the stalls were open. The large fans and spaciousness make this place comfortable enough for a quick meal. Drinks are self-service which I've always disliked. They're of average quality too.
Why four stars then? The shining star of this particular GP is the Indian food stall. The chicken and mutton briyani are absolutely delicious, although slightly expensive. They also have other dishes that look appetising (I go weak for spicy food), as well as breakfasty flstbreads like thosai and roti canai. Basically a complete Indian restaurant that warrants repeated visits.
The other stalls worth mentioning are the chee cheong fun, salted chicken rice, rendang chicken nasi lemak, croissants (!), and fried noodles. The western and Japanese food stalls are below par though, so pick your stalls well.
Come for the ambience, but stay for the Indian food, before they move to greener...

I was served with 4 pcs of small sized oysters while the whole plate (can say half of the plate) left with full of this brownish colour flour mixtures after I have had all the oysters & fried egg. I paid Rm10 for the dish. Worst ever fried oyster. 😩😣I'm not trying to sabotage this lovely food court. The environment was good so as the cleanliness. That's y I still rated it 3 stars. I hope GP owner can hire a much better & reliable...
