On my way home to Penang to visit my aged parents residing there, I stopped by Ipoh to buy some cakes n nyonya kueh for my relatives n friends in Penang. My colleagues from Ipoh recommend me to get these snacks from this specially famous n popular place in Ipoh. This was my first time here. Quite easy to find as I was using Waze. Wow! I was pretty amazed by the multitude of various types of sweet n savory kuih n cakes all freshly made that morning n were systematically arranged in rows for walk in customers to choose from. Multi colored n of various shapes n sizes of sweet n savory desserts all for sale. The prices were reasonable n the portion was much bigger than what we used to get in KL n Petaling Jaya. After looking around, I bought some sweet n savory nyonya kuih which looked very rich in coconut milk . Then I also bought some savory yam cakes . The cup cakes, sponge cake n egg tarts were very tempting n I bought a bit of everything. I certainly cannot get so many varieties at the affordable price that I paid that day anywhere else in KL. I will definitely recommend my friends to come over here if they happen to be in Ipoh especially those who have a sweet tooth! You will never regret ! All my family n relatives gave a thumbs up after having tasted the goodies I bought...
Read moreOn my way home to Taiping a week ago, I stopped by this cake n Kuih shop in Ipoh as recommended by my colleagues from Ipoh that this is the best place for our Chinese local desserts. My first time here though the place is quite easy to locate using Waze. It's really awesome! So many types of colourful Kuih of various shapes n sizes! It's almost mind blowing. They must be real experts being able to prepare such a wide range of sweet as well as savoury desserts within a day . Furthermore I heard that they managed to sell all these every day. So rest assured for you will get really fresh Kuih everyday as there are no leftovers. I was spoilt for choice looking at the various types. Hard to really choose what I wanted. Finally I decided to get some sweet ones such as the cute sweet nyonya Kuih with pulut n coconut milk. Then I bought some savoury ones such as carrot cakes n yam cakes. I couldn't resist getting some packets of their signature biscuits n cookies as well. I also bought 2 pandan sponge cakes. I wanted to share these goodies with my relatives n neighbours. The prices were rather reasonable. The portion was quite big too. Good desserts at an affordable price. Will come again on my way back to KL to get some more for my...

After that we went to this famous dessert shop as recommended by my neighbour who is from Ipoh , to get some nyonya Kuih, biscuits as something to munch during our long drive to Penang. We reached this shop easily cos we used Waze. There , we saw so many various types of desserts-some sweet n others were savoury. I wonder how these people could churn out such a huge variety of desserts all within a day. It seems that they can successfully sell off every piece everyday ! So all these are freshly prepared daily. No leftovers at all. So we bought mostly the savoury types such as curry puffs, can kuih n some bak Chang. We also bought some sweet n coconut rich nyonya kuih- some wrapped up in banana leaves n some multi coloured Kuih. The prices were very reasonable . Once in the car, we started eating what we had bought. These tasted so good that we regretted not having bought more! On our way home after our Penang trip, we stopped once more n bought more this time to take home for our...
