Yau Kee Restaurant — Restaurant in Perak

Completed one of Kampar food icon with famous curry chicken bun (roti kari ayam). Basically, it is baked bread with curry chicken cooked inside.

Sheet of tracing paper is used to "hold" the chicken in curry gravy, not to spill. When the bread is cut opened, the top & crusty parts "break off" nicely.

After the server cuts opens the top the piece of tracing paper, you can either dish out a portion of the curry chicken into a bowl to dip you piece of bread init.

The other option is to just "dip" the piece of breaf , straight" into the bread.

This restaurant also serve other Chinese cuisine apart from buns , dim sum, pau , salted chicken , snow fungus , etc.

Overall, taste of the roti ayam is good like dip in dip chicken with tender bread.

One bun portion is for 4 pax (RM 36)

Location : located inside the city center. Very rasy to find, since it is just at the edge of the intersection between main road and a block.

Parking : plenty of parking spot near by. Just don't forget to pay parking via apps.

Service : the waitresses are very kind and attentive. When I asked them about which one should I order, they answered it right away.

Food : I ordered curry chicken bun, Java Mee and salty chicken. Salty chicken ans java mee are okay, like most in ipoh. However, the curry chicken bun is exceptional, a dish that you must try. Very tasty and you can't stop eating it. The portion is so big and the bread is soft.

Price : For me, it is very cheap for that kind of portion.

We tried their famous curry chicken and bread which was not bad, quite delicious except for the fact there was an insect inside the curry. The rest of the food were okay but for one of them the crabmeat was sour. The workers there were not very helpful and didn't provide tissue at all but other than that it was okay. The atmosphere of the place was very uncomfortable and unsettling due to a large number of dead flies lying around the floor. As we were having our meal there were also a lot of flies swarming our table. The toilets there also didn't have the best hygene and in general the restaurant was pretty dirty. We were quite disappointed that the staff in the restaurant couldn't bother to sweep and just sat around chatting. Our overall experience here was...
