As I drove towards Sungai Way on Sunday morning, the sky became darker and darker signalling that it was about to rain. However it didn't dampen my spirit to search for the elusive yam rice place inside the new village.
The Kopitiam has only one stall operating that morning - not sure about the rest though. Manned by an old Hakka couple, we asked for what was available. One bowl of yam rice, two bowls of mixed pork soup (one with and one without spare parts) and a bowl of braised pork trotter + egg.
◾Yam rice was the best tasting version so far. The rice was not clumpy and had a beautiful aroma that I almost ordered second helping. ◾Mixed pork soup - the liver was cooked nicely, while the intestines and kidney had no foul taste at all. In my definition, perfect! The cili padi had a good spiciness kick. ◾Braised pork trotter - easily sucked all the skin and collagen off the bone. Not too salty. ◾Kopi C Kosong - surprised that the Kopi here was actually good.
I was drenched a bit by the time I entered the car, but the breakfast made everything worthwhile. For now, this has got to be the best yam rice + mixed pork...

Finding a car parking spot near to the restaurant wasn’t easy. As far as I know there is no stall/ restaurant selling mixed pork soup with pig innards in Petaling Jaya area. The last time I took such soup was in Klang. Nowadays, youngsters usually shy away from innards.
