Had the pleasure of dining at Kaia Cafe By Yunns, and I must say my family and I were pleasantly surprised.

First off, we really appreciated that they providedhave directions for the best place to park - it helped immensely! We also loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. The service provided was top notch too, as staff members were attentive and friendly. For our lunch, we ordered the:

Truffle Fries: A mixture of sweet potato and regular (but curly) fries. It was a pleasant starter to have - the taste of the truffle was not too overpowering, and it was seasoned well. Soft Shell Crab Salad: Another great choice. Greens were fresh and the soft shell crab was well prepared. We requested for the dressing on the side, so can’t really comment on it. Tempura Ebi Sando: Ordered by my 6 year old. Their comment was: “is nice”. They finished it all, so I guess it passes! Oyako Donburi: Well cooked and thoroughly enjoyed by my 4 and 2 year old. Classic dish that was made well, can’t go wrong with a good oyakodon. Wagyu Katsu Sando: A little disappointing if I’m being honest. It was a little too rare for my liking (however I’m not sure if this is how they make it there, as I was not asked how I would like it done). This resulted in the wagyu being a bit too rubbery. The bread itself wasn’t too great either. I’ve had better elsewhere. Chicken Katsu Ramen: This dish was surprisingly delicious. All the ingredients worked really well together, although I have to say I regret mixing all the spicy paste with my dish, as it made it a little too spicy. However it was still a tasty dish, and the katsu was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Amaebi Capellini: Another dish that was thoroughly enjoyed by my kids. Verdict? GOOD! Uni Canape: This was another tasty offering. The uni was fresh and creamy. The entire ensemble complemented each ingredient really well. Ajisai Matcha: Ordered it without any additional sugar + oat milk and it was fantastic! It was so good that we had another to go. Matcha Lemonade: I would say it was more lemonade with a hint of matcha. I’m not complaining however, as the lemonade was refreshing and the subtle matcha hit at the end was balanced really nicely. Overall we were really happy with our lunch. It was quite expensive at around RM500+, but I’m sure we will...

Came here as a pair and tried three dishes: the Salmon Ghost Ramen, Truffle Yuzu Salmon Capellini, and a Nigiri Set.

The ambience was the first thing that stood out, sleek and modern with that clean, dark-toned Japanese aesthetic that feels a bit upscale without trying too hard.

The Salmon Ghost Ramen was probably the most memorable. It’s a dry-style ramen with thicker noodles, somewhere between udon and soba, and definitely carries some heat. The spice level reminded me of chilli pan mee, but with a Japanese twist. The soft-boiled egg added that touch of richness and moisture that tied everything together, and the crunchy tempura bits gave each bite a satisfying texture. A solid pick if you enjoy spicy noodle dishes.

The Truffle Yuzu Salmon Capellini leaned more toward the truffle side, with the flavour present but not overpowering, enough to notice without being heavy. It’s mild overall, so truffle lovers would probably appreciate it for that balance. The salmon was marinated nicely, though the yuzu came through more as a light finishing note than a core flavour.

The Nigiri Set was fresh, though the foie gras piece be a thicker cut to bring out more umami. The tamago felt quite standard, similar to the pre-made ones you’d find in stores.

Overall, fish quality was good across all dishes. I’d rate it 3/5 - worth checking out if you’re nearby, but not a spot I’d travel far...

a hidden cafe inside The Ativo Suite in Bandar Sri Damansara.

Spacious with in door & outdoor sitting, friendly staff and very special crockery.

Japanese Fusion Cafe with very good coffee. The Matcha Latte was not very sweet and its just warm for my liking

Their Special Ghost Ramen used very spicy and fresh chilies ! its bright orange color makes it stand out like Habanero Peppers with a slight sweetness. Spiciness level can be adjusted by adding more or mixing less into the noodle. Not everyone will like this type of fusion meal.

Friend Portobello Mushroom & Eggs Sando was nicely decorated with natural coloured sandwich toast and served with some side salads. The seasoning sauce was too runny as the mushroom starts to water as its not dry enough and it makes my toast too mussy ! Overall the taste was good.

Desserts are mostly cheese based, ganache, mousse cake and its absolutely should try if you love these type of texture.

Price to me is consider reasonable for a Cafe with chef prepared meal.

update Sept 4 2024 visit again for late lunch and was surprised that their kitchen is still open at 2:30pm Today’s order were same and taste were still good but this time cooked salmon is more delicious. But coffee today was a bit on the cold side. was a bit disappointed but has commented to...
