A lot has changed in the PJ Old Town Wet market. It has lost it aura, I had grew up knowing as its a venue my grandparents and parents used to go to by our weekly produce. Now since the pandemic, it has been renovated, its much cleaner, brighter, less crowded and quite a few stalls are left empty.

There are even a few shops inside where you can buy live chicken and get it slaughtered and butchered. The fish are usually marine, although there are huge vats of live catfish, you can also buy pork, beef and goat/mutton and lamb. The upper levels are the "dry section", they sell preserved foods like dried fish, salted eggs, dried chillies etc, and spices. Its a lot smellier, louder and messier than any supermarket but the prices and freshness here...
