We booked a table for five for their Christmas Eve Buffet Dinner and we were all excited and in great anticipation since the period of 2020-2022 actually robbed us of some great festivities, dining and family get-togethers. Arrived at the hotel at 6.20pm to see a crowd already queuing at the front entrance. I applaud the excellent reception and seating system, with the personnel individually escorting us to our designated tables. This prevented unruly people jostling for their tables. The turkey and roast meats were placed within view of everyone and it was easily accessible-no unruly queue-cutting to get to it. Service personnel were attentive and promptly took our dirty dishes away once we were done with them. Santa and his Santarinas gave a great show of engaging with diners and gave festive lollies to everyone, regardless of age. Here i would like to suggest a few tips to make the buffet more memorable and to do justice for diners overall:- There were limited supplies of fresh shrimp and raw oysters. After the first round finished, late diners and those who did not have them as an appetizer went away feeling cheated. Some guests took too many while some didn't have any. May i suggest a coupon for each guest that would limit their consumption of these high-priced items - say four raw oysters, 4 large shrimp to ensure everyone gets to taste them while ensuring the hotel prepares adequate quantities for their guests overall The turkey and roast meat started out lukewarm but as time went by, without being placed under a heater, the meats went cold and became quite unpleasant to the taste. Suggest the chef keep the meats and their sauces constantly warm for their guests to continue enjoying the fare. The spaghetti and pasta station should be left independent. Instead of waiting in line for the chefs to cook each selected pasta, might i suggest that the sauces(namely cabonara, bolognaise and perhaps aglio olio) be prepared and kept warm so guests might just pick their own type of pasta and ladle their own preferred sauce on and move quickly along the line. Lastly, the cheese and cracker plate seems to run out of crackers... the brie somehow got melted and stuck on the serving plate, making it hard and embarrassing for guests to tear the sticky cheese onto their plates. Maybe the chef could have them cut into bite-sized portions and place crackers - cheese or plain just below them. Overall, i thank the Eastin management for an overall excellent dinner and hope to come back in 2024 with my family to once again enjoy the Christmas...

Read moreFor RM80 nett per pax , the price of the weekend hitea, I honestly thought I would be getting some good food to satiate my appetite. But alas, my expectation was false. What the restaurant gave us are only cheap and tasteless food. The only real food served were a bowl of chicken cooked with soy sauce, mutton curry and a bowl of tiny fish head curry, The rest are fried rice, noodles soap, pastas, asam laksa etc. I didn't see the like of satay, beef, fish, prawn, squid which are normal dishes in any restaurant. Taste wise I would give an overall 5/10 for the food. Unless they change the chefs or improve the quality and taste of the food I think my first visit there...
