The Lounge — Restaurant in Petaling Jaya

Had our annual Christmas Eve buffet dinner at the lobby lounge here at Eastin Hotel, PJ after seeing some online ads and it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment in the food and service department. Firstly, the check-in to the venue was poorly coordinated with long queues and some confusion as everyone attending the dinner stood there waiting until the venue management sorted this out. At RM 142 per pax, the arrangements and food should be way better. 2 of the most popular festive dishes failed miserably, namely the Turkey which was tasteless and dry like a tree bark. Then the must-have Christmas Roast was under seasoned and so tough it feels like chewing on rubber. The rest of other food available was average with nothing really standing out in terms of taste. Shrimps and oysters was way under served with our party of 13 pax hardly got a chance to try when it was all taken up by others in less than 10 secs after serving. Another surprise was tea and coffee are optional and one has to pay extra for any of these standard buffet beverages. What Christmas buffet dinner doesn't serve tea and coffee? Hope the people organizing this event reflect on this ridiculous over sight. Where we were seated, which was on the stage, it was basically so under ventilated and warm that we were sweating while dining and despite numerous requests for them to increase the air conditioning or alternatively provide some stand fans, nothing was done. Overall, what saved its ratings for me is the atmosphere and cleanliness. Will never recommend or come back to events like...
