After having run an errand in p.j. old town, the kids were hungry and the blistering heat on a Sunday afternoon sent us scurrying into an air conditioned restaurant. To grandma's sister! The restaurant was too cosy and the robot which attempted to manuevre couldn't reach its destination as there wasn't a lot of walkway between tables - it's cute though how it keeps apologising to everyone in its path. The QR scan on the table didn't function well so i had to walk up to the counter to order. The kitchen wasn't exactly quick too. Between 2 adults and 2 kids, we had an onsen egg set, a char siew noodle soup, a premium char siew rice set and a shrimp wanton noodle. The soups were all unique - very tasty initially but the flavour enhancers had us lapping our drinks. Premium char siew was just thick cuts of lean meat without any marbling - so a tad dry. Portion of noodles were also rather small. Overall, a good experience for us visitors to the area. Unlikely to...
Read moreI frequent this place monthly and it was great initially. The sauce, the noodle and portion are all great. I would often try different menu items as well.
However, the recent 2 visits has left me banning the place altogether. First was the toast, it became bland for some reason. But it's not a deal breaker since the noodle is the main thing.
But then the noodle has gone down the hill recently. They swap out minced pork with minced chicken and it's bad, minced pork have the aromatic and juicy flavor, while that minced chicken will leave hoarse taste in your mouth. Even the char siew now is chicken and not pork. I gladly tried to change it to the pork version by adding some fee but was disappointed because the portion that came was kicik meow.
The texture and sauce is also problematic, it's too soft and the flavor isn't right. The whole dish shows that the one cooking it has no appreciation of satisfaction of food but merely something that...

Pepper soup still ok, moderately. The dry lao shu fun is taste bland , you probably need to add soy sauce & pepper . The dry noodle sauce is really not meeting expectation. the noodle is too tasteless. Add on a side dishes of char siew in which the price is consider cheaper than others with the portion given. However, the char siew is not nice. Just see the red sauce but it’l doesn’t taste like a roasted char siew. Taste is lacking. Ordered kopi C kosong, kopi also not meeting expectation, kopi C kosong too less of kopi taste.
