#1 Roastery — Restaurant in Sabah

PLEASE DONT MISS THIS GEM! From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by the design of the space. But what really impressed me was the quality and price of the food and drinks. I ordered few drinks, beef meatball spaghetti and cheesy fries and it was so delicious🤤. The pasta was perfectly cooked. Speaking of price, I found the cafe to be very reasonably priced. Given the quality of the food and drinks, I expected to pay more than I did. I need to mention one of the best parts of the cafe - the staff!❤️ The girl who was upstairs was incredibly kind and friendly, always with a smile on her face. She made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. It's always a pleasure to be served by someone who truly enjoys their job and takes pride in making their customers happy. Also need to mention Mike. This guy remembered our names all day, it was insane. Such a nice person. All in all, I highly recommend this cafe. Had a bad experience with the person in charge here (black shirt). They missed out our order despite we been asking few times for our drinks, however, no proper apologies coming from him.

Instead, the manager (i assumed, wearing black shirt) came to us giving a straight not-friendly face suddenly gave us “refund money” for the missed order INSTEAD OF A PROPER APOLOGY or talk nicely to us. Just 2 secs & he just left like that. We find thats so rude & it’s very uncomfortable to stay there, so we just left.

Sometimes a simple SORRY is enough and that’s it. Put away your ego. Common sense & mannerisms is important, it’s not about your money though.

Initially I thought this cafe is going to be a good place to go to post-work but now it’s not...

Was surprised to find this place while back to kampong, located at the Heart of sandakan an amazing and cozy place for coffee lover to sit down, relax and enjoy coffee . Dessert was delicious and this is my first time trying out the nitro coffee . Staff was friendly especially Mike the roster a.k.a the manager he was nice and helpful. had a wonderful conversation with him and he was very passionate and knowledgeable about coffee. Had the chance to try out freshly brew mandheling beans too. If you happen to visit Sandakan and a coffee lover do drop by at @no.1roastery and look for Mike he will definitely assist and share his knowledge on coffee and you will go out with a lot of good insight on coffee.
