So this is a review of 9 people, not just me alone.
I will start first. I ordered the Rex Burger. Its a double patty beef burger with american cheese, ham, sauté onion and tomato. I like that it had some sauce but not those overflowing with it. Most shops tend to drown their burger with far too much sauce. The taste was just average. The meat was far far far too dry. My wife ordered the beef burger and said similarly. Another friend ordered the chicken burger, and she only had half of it. All 3 burgers were a flop. We all agreed that the only thing right was the presentation and nothing else. The fries that came with it was also over fried, hard, tough and undersalted. I eat with my mouth, not with my eyes. So presentation doesn't wow me too much when comes to food.
Another friend ordered the fish and chips in egg yolk. She reviewed it as excellent. The batter was light yet crunchy. It was well season and the fish flavour pull through. The sauce that came with it was too sweet, closer to a dessert. Absolutely doesn't match with the fish.
Another friend ordered the fried chicken with egg yolk sauce. I had a taste if it too. This was nice. We all agreed it was perhaps the best dish we ordered this time. The chicken was beautifully done, soft and moist yet the skin was crunchy. The taste was sufficiently seasoned without anything overpowering. Well done on this dish.
The nasi kerabu was not nasi kerabu. The only thing that was right was the blue rice. There were no other element of nasi kerabu, no budu, no boiled fish, no kerisik, not even the raw salad that was suppose to be with nasi kerabu. An absolute failure. To make it more insulting was it came with some sambal which again was far too sweet for savoury food. May as well call this nasi ayam penyet with blue rice.
Two other friends ordered the lamb chop with pasta. Both agreed the lamb was good. It was up their alley and agreed it is how a lamb chop should be. The pasta on the other hand, tasted like nothing. They couldn't even explain what exactly was it, not in a good way. Aglio olio which was what it was suppose to be but absolutely missed the mark.
Finally pasta carbonara. Similar, there were nothing to say about it.
Frankly, i had better view...
Read moreService crew here still havent improve in terms of attentive and alertness, seem like very stingy in providing extra plate or cutlery, 2 chicken chop not given a knife but grill chicken is given, very 🤣, order one set pizza, no extra plate given, didnt offer to clear finish food on table and l notice they prefer to do it after customer leave. If customer order a lot food then where to put it then if u guys dont clear it. These are common sense and dont give me the bullshit excuse " you can always ask or request". Same goes to the owner, always a sarcastic face and mouth full of gold inside. No eyes contact or smile and even thank you if make payment with them, i encounter a few of this kind of attitude from them not just sage kubota, but sage kuhara and sage bataras area too. Better put on a close section sign if one of your area is closed. Not until ur customer settle down and then u info, give the impression u are chasing us out. This is the second time i encounter this kind of this things, first time is when i walk in with my family, settle down, then only one of their staff info us they are fully booked and in other words, chasing me out again. what the point u hired plenty of staff and standing at the door and just like...
Read morePros: Food quality is excellent; the menu is full of scrumptious food and choices are plentiful. The owners have taken an initiative to constantly upgrade their menu and introduce new cuisines to their plethora of food choices, which is an added treat to visiting customers. The ambience of the restaurant is rather dimmed, but the interior design looks very catchy and eye-pleasing. The seating areas are widely spaced which is good for some privacy among friends and family.
Cons: The main course is rather pricey and definitely burns a hole in the pocket if you come here with friends and family on a regular basis, and footing the bill especially. The saving grace would be the value lunch sets which provides a more economical and competitive price for hungry patreons. One complaint that i have is the immense echo in the premise which makes it difficult to have a proper conversation at times.
Things that could be better: Maybe come up with a solution to sound proof the premise, and it will be the perfect dine-in location for...
