An old-school bakery run by an old couple who has kept a family secret well past n baking pastries which both locals and outstation people would love. Their signature Kaya Kok is well-liked as it is crispy but not overly sweet as this shop makes its own kaya. Try the Butter Cake, NOT the butter sponge as you can only taste the butter in the cake, not the sponge one. The others will like the Pandan Layer cake and cup cake because it is a matter of taste preferences. It will remind you of the "Bai-ee" bread man who peddles his bread, cupcakes and snakes at night to houses needing bread for the next morning to feed their school-going kids. My brother was shocked to see his colleague in the store - this shows you can work with a person twenty years but not know where she resides or what her family does. Good to discover that, for it would be our regular food hunting and pastry-buying spot...

We stopped by Teng Wun Bakery & Confectionery in Kuala Kubu Bharu on the way down from Fraser's Hill returning to KL. We managed to buy kaya puffs and a variety of other traditional pastries. They used to have their brand printed on their takeaway boxes previously, but now use a generic box. The pandan layer cake was in short supply and we only managed to buy one box. The Pandan layer cake is light tasting and not too sweet, which makes it very nice. The kaya puffs were freshly baked and filled the car with a lovely aroma. Taste is good, very crunchy and is great with black coffee. We gave a few boxes to friends as gifts and all of them liked it very much. A mandatory pit stop to buy traditional pastries in KKB. Note: plate in...

Very very bad service! Asked for the small orange plastic beg twice but refused to give me. She only can give me the smallest yellow plastic bag. She asked me what the plastic bag for..I told her I want to share some of the Kaya puffs & sponge cake. But she insisted the smallest yellow beg can ! Liked not really willing to give away the plastic bag! What so stingy "kedekut" 1 plastic beg wouldn't make U lose hundred ringgit lah! Never ever come again! Very very poor service young lady! If got Zero point here surely I will give Zero to this poor...

Usually crowded. Old school texture cakes and kaya kok available. Personal preference feels the kaya kok more unique, kaya filling is more towards the dark brown type, but was a little dry. Overall still nice. Cake was fluffy, tho I couldn't taste much of honey or egg, eventhough it has the old school look. Still a good local delicacy, good for gifts. Kaya kok was individually packed in small plastic bags. In a way, it's convenient for travellers eating in the car through the journey. Contrary its not environment friendly n create plastic waste.

Been 3 times go to kkb town. 1st thought its was normal cake. So nvr bought it. And this time, giving heart to test. Omg, the cake was very soft. The taste was very very old generation one (when I was kid, 1980 years, it's that taste) Bought kaya puff - still crunchy even ate on 2nd day. The packaging very convenient. Peanut butter cake - very soft, aroma peanut very nice. Kaya swiss roll - very very soft and taste nice. Overall won't too sweet, soft and nice. Definitely will bought again when go there.
