Originally known as Drizzle, Glaze opened their doors in 2018; ushering in the sought-after delicious cafe food we have all been waiting for.
The Food [5/5] My go-to dish in any cafe is the aglio olio, due to two reasons.
Firstly, it's simple and delicious. And secondly, it's hard to screw up, so I don't have to worry even if the chefs are lousy.
However, the chefs here at Glaze takes your stereotypical perception of the dish and upgrades it ten levels. The aglio olio here is bursting with umami, but still retains the textbook flavor of the dish. The flavors are highly reminiscent of clam stock; which any seasoned chef would tell you adds incredible depth.
The spicy pasta option was also spot on, as it added a slow and pleasant burn and generally worked well with the dish. I would DEFINITELY recommend ordering this dish if you drop by the restaurant.
Their coffee (I ordered a Latte) on the other hand was average with slight sour notes, which could be purely from the blend.
The cakes were good(I have tried all of them), but not to the point where I would return just for it.
The Pricepoint [4/5] The prices here range RM8-RM15, which is really worth it! The dishes here are generally about RM5 cheaper than the cafes in KL.
The Ambiance [4/5] The interior is beautiful, especially in the late afternoon. The abundance of natural light streaming in gives it a very chill vibe, which lines up with the staffs' demeanour. The only thing out of place is the mini children's playground(?), which does not really blend with the atmosphere they're trying to set.
The Service [5/5] The staff were very friendly, often sporting genuine smiles. I really liked that they left out a mini feedback box for customers to give comments on the food too.
Verdict: [5/5] Gorgeous place, extraordinary food and excellent service. If you're within 5 km of this place and craving cafe food, not coming here...
Read moreThis is one of my go-to restaurants however wanting to share feedback for improvement. Being in Cyberjaya, finding good vegetarian food options has always been a struggle, especially in Tamarind Square. I discovered Glaze through a friend and was happy to see vegetarian options available, even the pasta had a meatless option. However, every time I ordered the pasta, there was nothing but sauce and spaghetti with no condiments whatsoever. The most I've seen was 3 pieces of sliced mushroom! I find this very disappointing given I'm paying the same amount as a person who would order the protein option (chicken). Although this was a repeatedly disappointing experience, I still gave it another try, this time around expecting the staff to take my feedback and provide a better serving of condiments that should come with the pasta. The staff was very polite and after checking with the manager whether they could add some additional condiments, the staff did let me know that this is the SOP however they will convey the request to the kitchen (no complaints on the service from staff, they were very polite). The dish came with still 3 pieces of sliced mushroom, with 3 sliced cherry tomatoes. I appreciate that they had attempted to include an additional condiment however I cannot say that I am satisfied because being a vegetarian, at least they could include more mushrooms to replace the protein and the lack of condiment makes the dish look like it lacks quality for the price. I hope the management reviews their SOP and provide better quality dishes as I wholeheartedly say that the food is good but the serving should...
Read moreVisited last weekend for a quick lunch and heard good things about this place so was looking forward to it.
As it was in Tamarind, parking spaces were in abundance but I would recommend ladies to park outside. The inside parking is dark and dangerous - heard some nasty stories about single ladies getting mugged and flashed here.
The shop itself was easy to find - across the Boat Noodle store, and looked inviting. Staff greeted us at the door and were quick to seat out party of 5.
Quite a number of food option and reminded me of college style cafe - good simple food that's affordable.
We ordered 3 rice meals - butter chicken, soy chicken and chili chicken. The first two were good but i wouldn't recommend the chili chicken.
We also ordered their pasta masak lemak and that was perhaps the highlight of the place. The fusion pasta is a true reflection of Malaysian food - spicy and flavorful, giving just the right kick. My sis wasn't happy as she couldn't eat spicy food but I told her thats what the pasta SHOULD taste like. I loved it! But of course, each to their own.
She also ordered the beef aglio olio as she couldnt eat the spicy pasta but weirdly enough, the beef olio was also quite spicy. I didnt mind it but I wouldn't recommend it to people who are sensitive to spicy food.
For drinks, we ordered basic iced lemon tea, iced tea and matcha latte (matcha was good).
Overall, i liked my experience here. Would i come again? Definitely, if I'm...
