We waited 50+ minutes for the first dish to arrive, sotong goreng tepung. But unfortunately, it came cold. The squid pieces were small, not juicy, and the sotong-to-garlic ratio was about 2:1. Honestly, I paid for the squid, not garlic. Five minutes later, the second dish, tomyam and rice arrived. The tomyam was just average; it lacked that strong, tangy-spicy kick you’d expect. It came with four pieces of prawn. By this time, we had already asked the staff twice about the rest of our order.
We were on the verge of cancelling the remaining dish and just paying for what had arrived, but the staff insisted the food was “almost ready.” After another 10+ minutes (at this point our rice is cold), the final dish, siakap lychee sweet sour (we requested no lychee) arrived. At this point, my husband had lost his appetite. The sauce tasted like a simple mix of chili sauce and tomato sauce. Maybe my frustration at the delay clouded my judgment, but it just didn’t taste right.
The kitchen seemed to be run entirely by foreign cooks. The restaurant wasn’t full, but there were about 4–5 big groups (6–10 people each), so I’m not sure why the food took so long. Used plates on nearby tables were also left uncleared for quite a while.
The experience was disappointing. Not just because of the food, but also because of the long waits and lack of efficiency.
Overall: Came hungry, left with patience training and a...
Read moreexcellent small details that come to my attention:
clear spicy tomyam chicken: large amount for 23rm can share with 3people minimum, good amount of chicken quantity for the tomyam,so worth it they use thigh part so its juicy and tender (not the common stringy ,solid form of chicken breast),which is just perfect
fried chicken wing: fried at high heat to maintain the juiciness inside, crispy and fresh chicken ,pair with the thai sauce just a perfect pair, although for the batter they can add slight more saltiness to it
nasi 10thai : good portion of pad kra pow, more than the the quantity shown pictured inside the menu, so glad it taste good, however can add alittle more of grilling/char / wokhei taste to it. plus the basil not overpowering, just nice! usually pad kra pow i had would have strong taste of basil i end up got some sort of headache/bloated stomach.
pandan chicken : again, they use thigh part - juicy tender chicken, fried at high heat just adequate for the chicken to cooked succulently
food overal - almost near to perfection(up to my liking-mybe not up to par for those hardcore thai food fan) and keep these aforementioned tiny detail of qualities, ill be a...
Read moreBad management for gathering as we booked the place for gathering of 13 adults and 9 babies/toddlers. We were told there will be ample space and enough high chairs for the babies but when we came the table couldn’t even fit 9 adults and 5 babies. High chairs are not enough to caters to the kids. When we informed to the staffs, they keep saying our table is enough for 13 adults when it was clear that there were no more space for the food (we ordered and paid earlier prior to arriving to the restaurant) let alone the adults to sit (they did mot count the space for kids!)
We asked to swap table with the other customer (who were sitted at a table that can sit 10 adults but at that moment there were only 4 of them with no food arriving) but our request was turned down by the staffs. We ended up had to sit on different table with 9 adults and 7 kids, and another table for 4 adults and 2 kids. Really spoiling the mood for our gathering while the other table (which we requested to swap at first place) had more empty spaces with still no food at the table by the time we finished eating at 4pm (we came around 1.30pm)
Food: tasted so-so, nothing too memorable. Quite affordable for...
