I’ve been a familiar patron to Kaysha ever since it opened few months back usually for breakfast and lunch. I don’t have much qualms with the customer service (not consistent) as I really appreciate the fusion food on its menu and the taste.Let’s not talk about the price as this is subjective and up to customer perception but one incident happened today that completely marred my dining experience today. I booked a particular table for 3pax for early dinner a few days in advanced and to my surprise today, I was given a different table and the table i requested was occupied (please note that there many vacant tables that time). Somehow if you have booked, rest assured that no care would be taken on your request even though they said noted. I asked the first female waiter about my request, she just said she didn’t know and said sorry. I said make sure to relay the message to whoever made the booking because I really wanted to get clarification. Nobody came to me after that I had to go to this group of waiter/waitresses chit chatting and asked who is in charge of the booking. One of the waiters approached me and said it was him but he apologized because the particular table was occupied from 1PM till then (i made my booking at 5PM) and guess what, every time i tried to voice out my disappointment he rebutted and always had answers (RUDE! How can you be in front there), I was just trying to say if the table was occupied and they knew i was coming, shift the almost 5 hours dining customers to another table but he said he couldnt do that. At least have the courtesy to inform me so i can dine elsewhere. I was looking around and the restaurant was pretty empty, he could have done that to that almost 5 hours dining customer! No sincere apologies nothing (I have to say I’m very disappointed), not even like “May I offer you a cake to cool you down” ( not that i expected any) . The worst part was they gave us a table where i got to enjoy my lobster facing a “Cleaning in progress” yellow sign. So anyway we just wrapped up our dinner quickly because i was fuming (no lobster roll can cool me down) and when paying the same dude said “Minta maaf ye bang” (kau ingat aku abang kau? Fine dining kan, address aku properly), i just paid and left. Probably not coming here again for a...
Read moreummm a big no from me. Saw this place on tiktok and was so excited to try it out, but the food was terrible. I really thought that with all the elegant/upperclass look that this place gives, I thought that the food was gonna be upperclass as well. Even with all the fine deco, the carbonara pasta was NOT cooked using the authentic Italian recipe (with egg yolk). Instead they literally served spaghetti tekak melayu (with cream).......with horrid fried chicken. Not worth the price. You can get authentic pasta at a cheaper price from Jama KL. Carbonara pasta should never be paired with McD kind of fried chicken. If you wanna do it right, please pair it with breaded chicken instead. I tried Yakitori, it was good. Burger had a strong smell from the oil that they dressed it with. So the taste of the oil overpowers the taste and smell of the chicken. Did I mention that the entire burger was drenched in oil too? From top to bottom. Please tone down on that. The steak was ok, lamb was ok too -- But please don't bother trying. the taste is not worth the price. Might as well spend at Kyomo to get your monies worth. Tried various drinks as well (from combined fruit juices to teas to milkshakes), everything was ok but the oreo milkshake can be improved (lack of oreo taste). For a small cup of juice/tea, you can get somewhere else for a better deal.
Staff: All amateurs. No professionalism. Manners? Let's just forget about that. It's non-existent. No etiquette too. Weird flex for an "upperclass" dining place.
Overall: This is just a hyped up restaurant that uses fine deco to veil their inability to serve authentic food. Note to self, just because a restaurant looks nice with all the high prices they put up in the menu, that does not mean that the food is prepared by a certified chef. They tried so hard to resemble a fine dining restaurant by copying the act of only serving bottled aqua panna but failed. Expensive for no reason. Taste biasa only. Bruh, pick a struggle. Go to an actual fine dining place instead.
Seems like the owner focuses more on spending on the interior and not on staff & food etiquette. I wonder if they truly have the valid experience to rush into such...
Read moreThe main reason I had a good time at Kaysha was the great people I was with. The food was overpriced. I had okay fish and chips for 40 ringgits and a glass of apple juice for 16 ringgits. But restaurants where the price of food has nothing to do with its quality are a dime a dozen. What was unique in Kaysha was something else. I was ordering my food when two drops hit my head. Amazed, I looked up, then told the waitress, “I think water drops just fell on my head.” She looked at me as if nothing could be more natural and said, “Yes, it's the air-con leaking.” My friend asked her if we could perhaps sit somewhere else. Calmly, she replied that everywhere was the same except for the two tables next to the toilet door. If we did not wish to sit near the toilet, she reassured us that if we just moved our chairs a bit, we could avoid the drops. Nice and professional, but no apologies. I moved my chair and a while later, when we were waiting for the last dish to arrive, a man who I suppose was the manager came to our table and asked me if we had faced leakage. I said yes and pointed at the mini puddle on the floor at the spot where my chair was before (well, I'm exaggerating obviously, but there was a wet circle as if you'd put a wet mug there for half an hour). Then he nodded and went away! Nothing! Not a word of apology, explanation, anything! We just laughed and laughed at this weird approach to hospitality in this fancy restaurant. So if you go to dine at Kaysha, remember to take...
