I don't support Starbucks ever and on the one occasion I do I can gladly report it is as disappointing as anticipated.
This shop is an absolute disaster. There is a line of fifty customers (no exaggeration) and one person taking orders.
None of the food in the display case looks worthy of purchasing, not even the bright halogen lights could make any of that appealing. The wait time would ruin any glimmer of excitement for a bite to eat anyway.
The coffee: Double espresso, weak and poorly extracted, no crema. Incorrect volume. I.e. Tasteless brown water.
Hot latte: The same as the espresso except with half a liter of warm ish milk tipped in to it.
A young girl in line accidentally knocked some mugs off the shelf and smashed them.... This happened simply because they're stacked right where people have to try and walk with their luggage and bags through a very narrow walkway. The store manager told this young girls father that he was going to get the police involved as if to say Starbucks A. Doesn't have insurance, and B. A few mugs aren't worth a few dollars at best to produce.
That incident aside it took twenty minutes to place an order and then another twenty to get it.
The dining area is absolutely littered with trash and leftover cups and Starbucks branded litter.
I feel genuinely sorry for the workers here who are clearly trying to make it work but are simply understaffed in a poorly designed setup pseudo cafe.
Suggestions for improvement. (Store specific) Alter the layout to remove clutter and merchandise from the narrow ramp and order area. Roster some more staff. Give them some correct training to manage conflict appropriately (police for broken mugs?!). Set up a regular non negotiable cleaning rotation for the restaurant area. (wipe benches, put away rubbish, empty bins) Dial in the coffee machine properly.
Packaging and waste. Every single thing is double triple wrapped in plastic, cardboard, packaging etc. Yes your brand is everything but you can put branding on more environmentally friendly options and help reduce the amount of...
Read moreI would like to draw attention from Starbucks management to this post. I have been to Starbucks all over the world and never have I ever met staff who are so ill-mannered. My wife and I went into the coffee shop and sat at a table so we could leave our luggage there and whilst I order she would sit. I believe this is understandable after a long-haul flight. However, the moment I put my carry on bag down a member of staff approaches me stating "Boss coming. You need to order. Boss coming boss see". So I went there and ordered right away. As I ordered my wife fell asleep on the couch. The same staff member now approached our table stating "Boss coming so no sleeping allowed. Wake up boss coming, boss coming"
I felt so neglected and humiliated. This definitely doesn't go with the Starbucks organisational culture. If "The Boss" who's supposedly coming values their customer even a tiny bit, they must take actions to rectify this. And if the boss is in fact encouraging this then he/she really do not deserve to have franchise ownership to Starbucks.
PLEASE...
Read moreThis is the one past security. Around gate Q served by Safina 4:37am on Jan 13. I was originally informed there was only grande and venti size. I tried to clarify if there was no more stock for tall cups? She said they only serve grande and venti. She showed the size of the cup and it looked like a tall cup size. I may be have seen It wrong as the clear plastic cups are harder to tell in size when empty. Maybe she did show me only grande cup, either way I lost trust at this point. It made me feel as if I was being scammed. I didn’t want to argue at this point because it’s 4 in the morning. Later while I was waiting for my coffee to be prepared, she came back later and asked me if I wanted to switch to a tall coffee. She went to the back of the stock room and magically found some tall cups. Was this an honest mistake ? I don’t know, but I feel like it was very untrustworthy from the first interaction. Maybe they are trying to boost sales and lie about sizes. I don’t know the actual truth, but a customer should never...
