I don't usually complain about food but... This was a disappointment.

The butter chicken masala was runny and underwhelming. The various curries and dhal that was given with the biryani rice and rotis was curried water. The parotha was so oily it was translucent and the paper bag it came in was soaked. The garlic naan was ok, nothing to shout about. The butter chicken masala biryani was edible. The aloo Gobi was mainly potato and had a thick oil layer on it.

The prices were ok. In terms of the staff. When I went to order at the counter, the staff attending was not interested in greeting or actually taking my order until I cleared my throat and said I want to order. Asked what I wanted took it down. Gave me the bill. Told me 20 mins. Didn't bother to advise or suggest (the butter chicken and butter chicken masala biryani were exactly the same. My mistake, not his job I suppose.. 🙃). When I came back and asked was it ready he just said not ready and walked off to do another task. Everyone in the restaurant was served even those that came after me. It wasn't until another older staffer came up and asked if I'd ordered, took my bill and settled it in 5 mins. Kudos to him.

TL;DR I should have gone to a...

Location & Ambience : Visible from main road connecting Seksyen 7 Shah Alam to Eco Ardence. Very clean and beautiful interior design, not typical of Mamak or Pakistani restaurant. Spacious interior layout. They also have tables for outdoor dining.

Food & Beverages : The food portion is generous, but the presentation is ordinary and not attractive. Taste is slightly better than average, although I've found better nan tandoori and briyani elsewhere. The briyani is using long rice, but the side dishes are very minimal. The tandoori is a bit dry and the pudina leave gravy/dip is a bit diluted. Overall, the taste is still good. For beverages, Hot drink is served in a cup smaller compared to normal. For those who like teh tarik 'kurang manis', I strongly recommend their teh tarik.

Service quality : Just average. Taking some time to serve meals eventhough not crowded. There are occasion whereby meals were sent to the wrong table. The staff are not friendly, not accomodative and quite slow to response to customer request.

Pricing : On the higher middle price range. Pricy compare to mamaks or other Pakistani outlets. But slightly lower compared to more established restaurant. Dinner for about 5 adults cost...

Service so BAD I had to put up this review

Waited for some time to order, when the waiter finally come, he just put the order sheet on the table. No pleasantries, no smile, no explanation and left. Why not just put the sheet on every table? 🤷🏽‍♂️ Now I have to call for the waiter again to give the sheet.

Waited too long to get our drinks, we ran out of topic to talk about. They’re just ice lemon tea, fgs.

Waited for eons to get a simple paratha.

Missing 2 items from our order. And they’re the same items that arrived earlier. Exactly the same. How can you messed that up? Ordering the same food so they can serve us faster is apparently a myth.

The ultimatum: reached out to at least five waiters, FIVE! to get the missing items. With reasonable intervals between them. One by one passed our table with items we thought made hastily for us. But nope. I was so mad I cannot even feel anger, I was baffled.

All in all BAD SERVICE beyond comprehension. Please AVOID.

To the owner, please improve, if not sila...

We recently dined at Mohd Yong Kitchen, Eco Ardence, and were thoroughly impressed by both the food and the overall experience. The restaurant serves authentic Chinese Muslim cuisine of the highest quality, prepared with care and attention to flavor. The Butter Prawn was rich, fragrant, and perfectly cooked, while the Kam Heong Lala stood out with its bold and aromatic spices. The Baby Kailan with salted fish offered a delightful balance of freshness and savoriness, and the Sambal Petai Squid was another highlight, combining just the right level of spice with freshness from the seafood. Beyond the food, the service was professional, attentive, and welcoming, making us feel comfortable throughout our meal. The restaurant’s soothing atmosphere further enhanced the dining experience, making it a wonderful spot for both family gatherings and casual outings. We highly recommend Mohd Yong Kitchen to anyone looking for an exceptional Chinese Muslim dining experience in Eco Ardence!
