Ordered the Mediterranean chicken bowl and asked if the ingredients of egg + yoghurt can be substituted to another due to preference (as my elderly mom doesn’t take this combination and texture of such egg). Was explained that this is not possible as without the egg + yoghurt the rice bowl would be too dry which I completely understood but was greeted with a very unexpected reaction when I tried to clarify my intentions. The man who I believed is the owner of the shop shook his head and sighed at my request as a customer. Isn’t customer entitled to such requests or clarification, due to perhaps dietary restrictions or whatsoever reason? This is so uncalled for but we decided to go ahead and had some food since we were already there, which was a decision we regretted most because the food was nothing short of a waste of money.
Had the smoked salmon carbonara which was tasteless, rice bowl was bland and mushroom soup was salty and had this strong milk smell to it. Overall, bad service and unprofessional customer service coupled with sub-par food, I would never go back to this place and would never recommend anyone to visit too. P/s we were there for early dinner at 530pm and the place was empty.
Update: yes, there was an event (children birthday celebration) as I recalled. So looks like in the future we should avoid this place whenever there is an event since the owner related the comment to the event. Thanks for recommending Elizabeth, I will definitely try and let Elizabeth know that I am there due to your recommendation so that they can thank you too and make sure I include this in their review after I’ve tried, Pickle & Fig...
Read morePickle & Fig cafe serve majority pork dishes. The decorations and interior are simple and dark. They are only 2 staffs on the floor and they are quite quiet with no greeting or welcome. We are the second customer and they seems don't border.
Got to order the food over the counter and pay first. Saw the kitchen only have 1 foreign worker there to prepare food, and it takes a long time.
We ordered Philly cheese pork Aglio olio streaky bacon Specialty pasta seafood lemon garlic
The Indonesian maid slowly bring up the food and don't know how to serve and just simply put a side.
The philly cheese pork, the bread is quite soft with strong cheese taste, but the pork is too little, only like 6 small tiny bean size pork inside the sandwhich, and most of the pork are tendon hard to chew. The aglio olio and seafood pasta are both bland and small portion.
Overall, the food quality is below avarage, the food over price, the service need to be improve, and the Internet connection here...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer to this cafe for over 2yrs & frequently order on Grab food. However have had two poor experiences recently: 1 - over CNY, Grab food was accepting orders & the cafe also accepted my order. After a whole hour if waiting for the food that we were told would take 20mins, a kind Grab delivery man called me to say the cafe was closed. Because the cafe had accepted my order, I couldn’t cancel it, so 6 or 7 drivers showed up at the cafe trying to collect my order. This should not have happened.
2 - Today we ordered from Foodpanda: the food arrived promptly & no delivery issues. However, the bread for the paninis was stale, there was a lot less beef than usual & not much capsicum. The pineapple juice was also so watery I wouldn’t have known it was pineapple juice.
I hope this place sorts itself out quickly, we’d love it to get back to normal (oh & putting paper around the wedges is a good idea so they don’t get...
