Soup base - nothing to shout about although it got better towards the end. Portion to price to quality ratio not commensurate. Set C (RM68) was meant for 2. Got 2 mid sized prawns, 6 small pcs of fish, probably half a whole tofu (in quarters), 2 whole fishball (in halves), 2 slices of pork, 1 fishball with filling, 1 meat ball of some sort, a sprig of green veg enough for only a mouthful, 6-8 pcs of fuchok, 2 eggs (which they forgot until we asked), some halves of tofu pok, a bunch of needle mushrooms. Been to Charcoal Queen few times since the opening with family and friends. It is not easy to find many restaurant in KL selling steamboat the old fashion way with the steaming charcoal.

Here are a few points why i like the place - They use fish broth with no MSG. The add ons are wrap in cling wraps for freshness and hygiene. Staff and owners are hands on and friendly. Totally love the homemade chili dip sauce * must celup (dip) The fried belacan chicken wing is mouth watering eat while its hot The place is clean and bright.

Tried this fish broth steamboat for the first time and its something not to be missed.The soup has a natural taste and no thirsty feeling after enjoying the steamboat.A must try is the Belachan Chicken wings which is served pipping hot and the taste is incredible,just cant stop with one serving.No doubts about the freshness of the ingredients and I love the fried garlic.Fast service and staffs are friendly.Overall nothing beats cooking with charcoal.Simply delicious.Will surely go back there again for a hearty and soupy meal.Please maintain the quality of the food and its...
