Moon's Kitchen (Putra Heights) — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

The few basic appreciation to an eatery place is such as nice and comfy dining place, food is awesome, the staffs are friendly, the services are world class or at least customer satisfaction. But yesterday I dropped by on a special occasion only to discover the services provided by the staff was negative and not honoured at all. Several tables were reserved in the restaurant but we are given the table outside at the entrance. I spent an hour there just to witnessed the tables kept empty without any customers from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. I enjoyed the food and beverage there but the poor services let me down and had no choice but to write down this review for your improvement. I have many experience in F&B industry, but this one I could clearly remark as your unprofessional staff behaviour didn't notice a floor manager or leader to actually think out of the box to cater the customers satisfaction. *no tables, no proper services, I have to grab the fork and spoons on my own, many of the staffs were gathering at the kitchen area but failed to take orders on time. Really a disappointment moment on such a wonderful occasion.

Soups ordered were cold - as in the top part was warm (not even hot) and the bottom ice-cold. Sent back and later soups were returned piping hot (sure case of it being microwaved as the cup was hot to the touch). The kitchen didn't bother changing the cup before re-serving coz it had soup splatter all over the side.

Spaghetti was mushy and unappetizing. Cream sauce was luke-warm causing it to separate into clumps. Fish & Chips came with cheap Mayonnaise instead of Tartare sauce. Aglio Olio was supposed to come with Italian Pepperoncini (as mentioned in the menu) but was presented with local chili kering instead. And everything was salty - soup, fish, pasta etc.

The food quality does not live up to the price tag. A huge let down - especially after seeing all the glowing reviews. I think corners were cut in order to keep down the cost; hence mayo being substituted for tartare sauce, local chili kering instead of the pepperoncini etc.

And oh, the staff! Guy hardly muttered two whole sentence when being spoken to. Served food haphazardly i.e. just park the plate at the edge of the table instead of asking whom the plate is meant for. Didn't even bother saying thank you during payment.

So glad to have discovered this restaurant! We initially wanted to go to a known restaurant nearby but they had no tables and a quick google search suggested a nearby steak place, Moon's Kitchen.

Humble, simple & clean restaurant. Spacious but not empty. Staffs are friendly and even went through the menus to help us decide what to get.

We ordered mushroom soup as appetizers, garlic & pepper steak and steak with chimicurri sauce as our mains. The soup is nicely seasoned. We liked that they put celery in soup which gave a little bit of layer to the soup. However, it is a little heavy on the cream and we wished that it had more mushroom & its chunks for more authentic taste. Both the steaks we had made our taste buds dance! We didn't have to dip in sauce as the steak can carry its flavor on itself. It's tender, juicy, moist but not undercooked - it is perfect!! The mashed potatoes that comes with the steak is also perfectly whipped - it is soft & fluffy and most importantly left us wanting more that we had to scrap it off our plates!

Overall, we had a very good random dinner at Moon's Kitchen and we have been recommending them to our friends. Will definitely come...
