Rude workers, treating customers with bias and according to them, they were rude because the boss told them so. I hope they will treat people with respect. Truly disappointed.

Dear Shiok Kopitiam Management,
Thank you for your response. I saw the great reviews and expected a good experience. However, I feel compelled to express my dissatisfaction with how my experience has been addressed. Allow me to provide further clarification on the matter.
I arrived at Lot 7 around 3 p.m. and noticed the sign outside. Despite this, I saw a number of people seated and enjoying their meals in the area, which led me to believe the section was open. I decided to go in. However, while I was there, a staff member came and turned off the lights. How can this be considered "helpful and respectful" service? How does such an action reflect a "welcoming" gesture?
I also need to point out discrepancies in your narrative:
You stated that the staff "politely informed" me. In reality, I approached one of the staff members to ask if it was normal to switch off the lights, and the response I received was, "Boss asked to close."
I never requested that the lights or air conditioning be turned on. The moment the lights were turned off, I felt unwelcome, as the staff's actions indirectly gave the impression that I was being asked to leave.
I chose to visit Shiok Kopitiam based on the positive reviews I had seen, but my experience fell far short of those expectations. Instead of feeling welcomed, I felt disregarded and disrespected.
I hope my feedback provides a clearer perspective on my experience and helps you take appropriate measures to prevent similar situations in the...
Read moreI visited Shiok Restaurant on a Sunday around 8pm and it was quite packed , definitely a sign of how popular the place is! Since the indoor area was full, I chose to sit at their outdoor seating which was cozy and had a nice evening breeze.
The restaurant has a charming 90’s nostalgic vibe with its dim lighting and classic seating that brings back a warm, old-school feel. I really liked that they have a bell service at every table , making it easy and convenient to call the waiters when needed.
I ordered the French Chicken Chop with mushroom sauce .The chicken was a little thin and not as freshly but the mushroom sauce was flavorful and helped make the dish enjoyable. The skin was crispy which added a nice touch. My friend had the Chicken Teri Don rice set which he said was really good , nicely cooked rice with a balanced sweet-savoury teriyaki taste.
We had iced lemon tea which was a little on the sweet side and ended with vanilla ice cream that came in a retro ice cream mug just like the old days! It was yummy and nostalgic , a perfect sweet ending to the meal.
The total cost was around RM55 which was reasonable for two mains, drinks, and dessert. The service was a bit slow maybe because it was full house, but hopefully they can improve on that.
Overall, Shiok has been around since 2008 and it’s easy to see why. The nostalgic setting, comforting food, and friendly atmosphere make it a lovely spot to unwind. Maybe the chicken chop wasn’t up to my expectation, but I’ll definitely revisit to try their...
Read moreGrill Salmon with Mash, Blanched vegetables. (4/10) -Fish, bland and tasteless, a little grill mark on it, no salt/seasoning at all, taste defrosted. (comes with a bowl of sweet salty terriyaki sauce) -Mash, every bite taste like buttercup butter, with the texture of a powdered mash. On top of the mash, they drizzle some mushroom bbq sauce, mushrooms used is Chinese black mushrooms, it gives a weird taste to the sauce, wrong choice of mushroom. -Steamed vegetables, a few slices of carrots (not cooked) had to force my fork through it, cauliflower and bakchoy..? the cauliflower and bakchoy are not even strained properly, and they put cream sauce over it, mixing water with cream sauce what do you get? My plate is flooding! -Half a tomato as garnish, the tomato is raw, skin was toasted for color, not a fan of raw tomatoes.
To the owner; I really hope you take food seriously, fire the chefs that are lazy to get fresh produce everyday, there are fresh-marts everywhere around Kinrara area, please do not serve frozen fish, it is expensive in cost, and expensive to customers too. I hope you take this...
