Sapori Cafe — Restaurant in Birkirkara

As a celiac, every recommendation for gluten free food in Malta leads to Sapori. So, we decided to make a 40+€ order and try various stuff (including "regular" food for my friends). I can only say that this was the most dissapointing experience I had so far. Here's why: First of all, none of the pizza boxes had that thing in the middle that helps the top of the box get in the pizza. As a result, most of the "good" stuff was leaked on the box (see pictures below). The pizzas had a very mediocre taste, as a result, we ate 1/3 to 1/2 of each box. It goes without saying that that's bad. The platter was, well, just a bunch of stuff thrown on top of each other and a very high price. And the desert, the melted twix chocolate was just another mediocre pudding. While I generally try to avoid as much as possible to throw away food, in the end, I was kind forced to throw away 2/3 of the total food we ordered. I don't think I'll every order again. "I entered the bar today at 10:30 for a croissant and a coffee, and from the first bite of the croissant, I could tell it was old or leftover from the day before, given that I had already eased my hunger. When I asked about the croissant's freshness, they informed me it was from yesterday afternoon. At this point, I politely inquired why they were selling day-old pastries. The waitress, who was acting like she was the owner, started verbally attacking me, claiming I should have said something after the first bite and that my complaint was just a way to avoid paying for it. Ridiculous. Even though the bar looks aesthetically pleasing, in my opinion, a place that sells day-old croissant shouldn't be classified as a bar. I would give it 0 stars if I could. What baffles me the most is that instead of apologizing, the waitress insisted that there was nothing wrong with selling a day-old croissant. Truly disgusting. I shudder to think about the other...

Never disappoints. I have been a customer for 8 years now, and all I can say is that I have never been disappointed. They have a wide variety of foods, from pasta, to chicken, to beef, to burgers and pizzas... you name it, they have it.

And what about their delicious shakes and juices? If you've never had one of those, what are you waiting for?

Staff are very helpful, and the place is very well kept, with good sanitisiation processes. Staff do not linger around, and are quite fast, and food arrives on the table after a decent time.
