I've been a loyal customer of Wolt Malta for years, but I can no longer recommend their service due to recent declines in quality and customer care. Despite being a frequent user with over 300 orders under my belt and even subscribing to their Wolt+ service, my experiences have soured significantly.
One of the most frustrating issues I've encountered is the blatant disregard for timely delivery. It seems that Wolt couriers have taken it upon themselves to make pit stops at various restaurants, even ones unrelated to my order, resulting in egregious delays. Most notably, they seem to conveniently linger around Labour Avenue Naxxar, adding an unnecessary 5-10 minutes onto the delivery time. This practice consistently results in my food arriving late and cold, completely undermining the convenience promised by the app.
What's even more infuriating is Wolt's response to my complaints. Instead of taking responsibility for the actions of their couriers, they deflect blame onto the restaurants, claiming that delays are out of their control. It's absurd to suggest that a 5-10 minute delay is solely the fault of the restaurant, especially when it's clear that the courier is making unscheduled stops.
Furthermore, the excuse that the courier is fulfilling an earlier order falls flat when considering the location of these delays. Labour Avenue Naxxar may have popular restaurants, but it's hardly a bustling residential area where multiple deliveries would be expected to occur simultaneously. Even if we were to entertain this explanation, it still doesn't justify the significant delay in delivery times.
Ultimately, Wolt's failure to address these issues demonstrates a lack of accountability and a disregard for customer satisfaction. As someone who has been a loyal and frequent user of their service, I'm deeply disappointed and will be exploring alternative delivery options moving forward.
