Personally I find Luigis to be overrated and all hype. Went there last time and wasnt amazed by the food. Pizza was mediocre and the lasagna was very oily i dont know why. I personally will give this place another try because of all the good things ive heard about this place but we shall see.

Gave another try after a long time for the birthday of a close one, This time they moved to the mont choisy mall. I tried the grilled beef fillet, beef carpacio and romana pizza with anchovies, my wife ordered some pasta and crispy chicken for my daughter

I asked the outdoor curtains to be lowered but the waiter said he would do it later and I ended up doing it myself!

The fillet I ordered medium rare and got it RAW! I returned it and the waiter asked me what do you want me to do with it. I told him i ordered medium rare and he said yes but what do you want me to do with it I told him I dont care what you do with it my friend I ordered medium rare and it is not medium rare!

I asked for the wine card and realised that there were very limited options on the card and I went inside and saw a nice collection of wines. I asked the waiter for a burgundy wine that would pair well with the food I ordered and he said well go check the wine card. I was surpised and asked him for a recommendation he said you decide check the wine card and then tell me. I decided not to order any wine and just eat to get out of this place asap

I asked for a clean high chair and didnt get it despite having it changed, it was still greasy and the waiter didnt care a single bit.

Now for the positive notes; The Romana pizza was great and had a crispy crust with the right amount of toppings, The anchovies were powerful but not overpowering and the pizza wasnt oily like my last visit. So well done for the pizza!

The Carpaccio as well was great and also deserves a well done from me.

Overall I will never visit this establishment again, its just not worth it. OVERATED and horrendous service from the waiters i encountered. Save your money as their are other fantastic restaurants on the island that will serve you well and provide you...

I don't like to give bad reviews on restaurants. But after our dinner the other night, i just had to. The menu is very limited, i eventually went for my trusty Diavola pizza. I spent 10 years in Italy and to be honest, the pizzas here used to be so much better than they are now. I ended up getting a luke warm margarita with some thinly sliced chorizo (maybe four slices thrown on top.) We waited nearly an hour for our food, my partners food came early then mine came about 15 minutes later, i mean it's a pizza....doesn't take long to cook.

We were positioned on a table in the front and there were kids playing on the motorbikes right next to my chair, so i eventually just moved myself, after getting up and fetching the menu myself. We then waited another 10 minutes before someone came to ask us for a drink.

Anyway, my partners food came out, she ordered an escalope veal with mushroom sauce. The food was shocking and she just could not eat it. The meat was probably just defrosted and the mushroom sauce was horrible. She had one bit and then just said no, i won't eat anymore. I said i would ask the waiter to perhaps see if it was off or something, but she insisted i don't make a scene. Anyway, with the overly priced wine, we ended up spending 3000 Rupees (63 USD) for one of the worst pizzas i have had and a thin sliced bit of meat covered in canned mushroom sauce.

The queue by this stage was over 30 people and when i looked around, there were at least 4 empty tables. The waiters and waitresses need to rotate people faster, bring them the bill to encourage them to pay and leave.

I loved Luigis when i first came to Mauritius, but the last three times i have gone there, i have noticed a deterioration in food quality, slow service and some overpriced items (especially wine).

As i mentioned earlier, i don't like giving bad reviews for restaurants, i also really enjoyed Luigis but i don't think we will be eating there or recommending this restaurant to anyone...

This place require advance booking, we just walked in and it was almost full. Still the waiter tried his best to give us a table for five unfortunately the table was quite small we were gaving difficulty to eat as there was not enough space to place the large plates and trays. We ordered a pizza 🍕 lasagne, lamb shank, seafood gnocchi and seafood frito misto. Coke was served first followed by the food 30-45 mins later. By that time the ice already disappear we asked for more they gave us huge chucks all sticked together. Starting with the gnocchi it was pretty good with enough sauce but the seafood was very less in quantity. Only 1 person got his food other kept waiting 🙄 after enquiring several times then we received the lasagne which was in an unpleasant Bowl painted with the sauce to commenton the lasagnethere was very few stuffing in between the sheets it was all stacked together without fillings or enough sauce. Waiting for some more minutes we received the pizza and the lamb shank. Pizza was 👍good but very thin crust. Lamb shank was delicious to the eye only bone out of the meat already. Meat was very soft and dry. Served with 3 big pickled potatoes and a few vegies which tasteless. May be they serve best to tourist and locals are treated otherwise even though we pay same price. It was also noticed that other table received their orders before us and we were there before them. Anyways will recommend to those who wants to throw money 💰 🤑 💸 Not...

Turned up at 9pm on a Saturday, there was a long line. Decided to come back for lunch on Sunday and we were the first seated. Ordered the frutti di mare penne and a friend ordered the seafood lasagna served in tomato and white sauce base respectively. I found the tomato sauce to be very well made, the garlic and herb balance was amazing. Makes a very simple looking dish extraordinary. The Tiramisu was very light and doesn't include mascarpone cream. It lacked the richness I would expect from this classic dessert. Still was very good and refreshing, especially with the Sunday heat. I'll definitely come back to try the pizzas soon. Update 30 Sep 22: Had the Pollo lasagna. Very generous on the portion. Tasted like a lasagna with a proper ratio of pasta, sauce and cheese. To try with the green chilli. Update Oct 22: Had a seafood and veg pizza as starter and the seafood gnocchi. All was good and the seafood gnocchi was delicate and tasty.

It is what it is, I would say. We wanted to visit this place for days, and we did it on our last day. It was quite disappointing that they are not having any bread service upon your sitting in an "famous" Italian restaurant. Burata is served with not thay fresh Lettuce and some roughly chopped tomatoes. No olive oil, no toasted bread or anything similar that will accompany a Burata that was not good it self either. Garlic "Foccacia" is actually a thin pizza dough, not cooked all the way, topped with garlic granules... Italian restaurant, fresh produce,... Pasta... I don't remember tasting something so unbalanced and acid, with the lumps of meat. Bolognes pasta and Napoliten pasta. I will not say anything else, but will leave the photos so you can see it yourself. To bad... we left the plates 1/2 full, paid, and left. No one even asked was everything okay... I wouldn't recommend this place.
