UPDATE: Returned the next day as we loved this place so much and the experience was the complete opposite of our first visit. I think it largely depends on the staff you get for the day. We were seated, took 15 minutes to get our drink order, another 15 min to get simple orange juice, then for them to take our order. After that, we were forgotten. Had to request the fan to be turned on as after 45 minutes we were still waiting for food. Btw, there were only 2 other tables taken at the time, place was essentially empty. When the order came it was all over the place and wrong in several ways. Someone from our group ordered a can of coke and he didn’t get it until his 3rd time asking. Terrible experience the second time around. Still, the food was delicious. I’d still give them 3.5 stars but today was a massive disappointment.
Original: I absolutely loved this place and can’t wait to go back! We had a party of 8, which is large for the little place, but they we generous in quickly providing space and taking our order. The food was fantastic and the prices were great considering the quality and quantity you’re getting. 99 pesos ($5) for a massive omelette? Killer deal. 105 (~$5)for pancakes, eggs and bacon? Boo yeah. Quick, attentive service, food took a while to get to us but worth the wait as they were pretty busy. Going...
Read moreWe went for a late breakfast around 11am. Thank goodness for the fans because it was pretty hot on the last day of July and I wondered how the servers could withstand the heat working in jeans! The menu was more expansive than I realized; two sided with several options on each side. I ordered the granjero omelette and while not noted on the menu, it came with potatoes and refried beans on the side. It was delicious! Seriously super good. My husband ordered pancakes and enjoyed every bite. We had asked for smoothies but they, quite remorsefully, had run out of ice (or, it melted?), so we had fresh orange juice instead, which was great! It was a very affordable meal and 1/3 of the severs spoke English and I worked my Spanish with the other two when needed. We could pay with a credit card. For being quiet, small, local and with good food I give it 5 stars despite not being able to...
Read moreWith a name like 'Pancake House', you'd better serve up delicious pancakes, and in that regard, this local, casual, outdoor eatery didn't disappoint.
The stacks of pancakes were light, fluffy, tasty, and generously sized. Add some butter and syrup (from the jars conveniently left on each table), and you're in for a delicious breakfast.
My daughter was in heaven eating the kids chocolate pancakes - these were drizzled in chocolate sauce, and then sprinkled with strawberry chocolate drops (just in case it didn't already have enough sugar on the plate)!
It's no gourmet restaurant, but for down to earth food, with friendly service, at great prices, it's not a bad spot for a...
