El Grill — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Seven of us had dinner at El Grill last night and I have to say I was underwhelmed. The pasta dishes, while loaded with Shrimp or other seafoods were good but the sauces were a bit gummy. I had the special combo of octopus, fish, ( seabass), and shrimp. All were fresh but that is just expected and while the octopus and shrimp were cooked perfectly, (fish was overdone), and the portions were small, especially the Octopus, with very little flavor. I had to season with olive oil, salt, and pepper just to give it some flavor, as it was very bland. The Greek salads were excellent and the warm potato salad was the hit of the night. Bill with tip came to about $53 per person with only 1 drink per person, a bit pricey considering. I think I will give it another shot but am in no hurry to do so as there as so many places that excel at their seafood offerings. What can I say , I gave it two stars because it looked clean , music I thought I was in an elevator , service none to speak off , just an order taker , calimary was Okay , I had the Pesto with shrimps way to much garlic did not taste shrimps or the basil , my wife had pasta with eggplant , nothing special , pasta not home made , little appetizer was nachos store bought Tostitos over seasoned , and salsa was so spicy it just did not match , but when the big tables walked in they where all over them , we arrived around six and the place was empty , no excuse for being busy, no I can not recommend this place , we had two beautiful dinners at Jasmin , we will go...

Disappointed. food was not up to the standards they should be. the tabouli salad was nothing more than a basic pico de gallo with poorly chopped parsley replacing the cilantro, the hummus was lacking flavor (missing salt, acid and olive oil), the olive tapenade was ok but nothing we could nor do at home better. the only positive was that the grilled octopus was very good and the fish that came with it was cooked perfectly. I would not call this a great Greek restaurant. nor will I go back again. to many good restaurants in town. They are just missing the correct chef to be a better restaurant. atmosphere...
