I visited Lunario with a party of 6 on July 24. Lunario is a MUST if you come to the Valle. The saying goes that you eat with your eyes first. Well, upon entering Lunario, the landscaping on the patio transports you to a magical world. You are served lemongrass herb infused water in beautiful pink, terra cotta cups. The table, on the patio, is lit up with candles.
One thing to keep in mind is that Lunario only has a set menu. There is no a la carte here. You can choose from the 4 course or the 6 course. My table chose the 6 courses. Every plate was beautifully plated. The amuse bouche was practically its own plate, a shrimp sope. So delicious. My favorite plates were the plaintain tamal with black recado and the coffee crusted kampachi. My personal preference, the lamb plate, was not my favorite but my husband declared it to be his personal favorite.
The service here was TOP NOTCH. Pacing for the plates was perfect. I regret not getting the wine pairings but after a day of wine tasting, we were all wined out. Make a reservation if you visit the Valle. You will...
Read moreA sincere thank you to the kitchen and wait staff at Lunario for one of the best dining experiences of my life. Your food, service, and ambiance were of the highest quality and my friends and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to join you.
Service: Jesus and team were so kind in allowing us to eat outdoors to make sure we felt comfortable, and went above and beyond bringing us blankets, heaters, and lights without us even asking. I cannot thank them enough for truly making our evening 5 stars.
Food: Delicious! The flavors and compositions were like eating at a Michelin star or Top 50 type restaurant. Cheers to the chef and team for a well balanced 6 course meal (plus amuse bouche and palate cleanser) where each plate shined. Both the meat and vegetarian options were amazing! Eggplant puree was out of this world!!
Ambiance: As with most restaurants in Valle, it's situated with beautiful views of vineyards but also had a lovely fountain pond and Marta, the friendliest pup.
Highly...
Read moreLocation is for parking at La Lomita winery, cross the road and take path marked Lunario for the restaurant amid the grapevines. Our party of 4 enjoyed both the 4 course vegetarian & regular menu with wine pairings. Chef Sheyla Alvarado, Sommelier Benjamin and attentive staff made our dinner marvelous, delicious creative food and excellent wine. Dietary restrictions were carefully attended to, presenting obviously different yet delicious presentations for one of us (me). One detail I especially enjoyed, a garnish of tiny, delicate, cilantro flowers. Relaxed, comfortable indoor space on a chilly evening, the outdoor spaces are welcoming too. The path exiting the outdoor space could use a little more lighting since after dinner we weren't as able to see where the steps were and stumbled a bit....
