Mar & Fuego — Restaurant in Baja California

We decided to visit Mar y Fuego and was highly recommended by a good friend of mine. I took my wife and we both decided to order their famous Red Snapper Tostada's and Spicy Shrimp Tacos along with the suggested bottle of Wine they had in the table. Our waiter was great and food came out quickly and in a timely fashion, after we paid our bill $84.95 US Dlls including gratuity we left back home where I felt a sharp stomach pain and then started to ache gradually, my wife also started to complain about the same symptoms, after a few minutes she had to vomit and then explosive diarrhea with stomach aches, then it was my turn, I spent the entire night inside the bathroom sick and my wife took the other bathroom having the same episodes as myself. Left to emergency were doctors had to flush out our stomachs, as we where boiling in a high fever we're diagnosed with Salmonella and been taking antibiotics for the past 3 days and still feel some sickness. Sadly to say we will never come back or recommend anyone...

My wife and kids decided to try this place, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was astounding, and the flavors of all that we ate was amazing. Our server, Marcos, was very tentative to our needs and was always making sure we had everything we needed to make our time here, one not soon forgotten. The atmosphere was very nice as well. It wasn't loud, and you could actually have a conversation without yelling across the table like many other places. This was a great experience for us. Especially being our first time coming here. As always the service is excellent. The food is general good. The Mar y Fuego aguachile is delicious work a nice assortment of seafood, and very spicy hot. The fish and chips looked good and plenty but the taste was not good. According to our guest the coconut shrimp was good but not might not order again. The grilled salmon with vegetables and rice was excellent. The taco Gobernador flavor was excellent but the tortillas were too crisp. Dessert was very good with honey yams and a corn cake....
