Divina Carne — Restaurant in Cancún

Staff and food were both acceptable, however be aware you may be paying significantly more than you would think. We came for dinner and we’re charged the “party rate” (even though we were not seated in the party section) which added up to $400 CAD!! Or 6000 MX which is ridiculously over inflated for a buffet meal and mixed grill for 2 persons. We weren’t informed that we would be charged a special rate, and were under the impression it would be the regular rate of around 600 MX each. There were not a lot of meat choices either, maybe 4 or so. We have been to other Brazilian grills in Mexico, the USA, Canada and Europe and most offer at least 10 or more selections of meat, not just beef and chicken. Definitely not worth it for the price, especially being charged 4x the normal rate for what is nowhere near 4x the food or service. I could understand there being an extra charge for New Years, maybe even double, but 4x the rate is ludicrous. We were told that it is usually only locals who eat here so I believe we got charged the tourist price. I expect a rude response from the restaurant to this review, as their entire attitude was generally poor when we inquired as to why we had been charged such and exorbitant...

I was supposed to write this review over a year ago and couldn’t find the name of the place. I’m so happy I found it. Divina was absolutely amazing! It was hands down the best dining experience my wife and I had in Cancun. We were there for our 1st wedding anniversary and they made our entire trip. We got there late right before closing and the manager was gracious enough to seat us anyway. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. From the buffet to the rich variety of meats we couldn’t have been more pleased.

The decor was very romantic and upscale and the staff was delightful. They went the extra mile to make our anniversary special with a surprise mini cake on a decorated plate for my wife and I to share. I would recommend Divina’s to anyone and it is definitely our first stop whenever we make it back to Cancun. The most amazing thing was the cost only $30 per person. We were wowed. In the states a meal at a Brazilian steakhouse would be $100 bucks a person easy. If I could give a 1000...

What a special place!! From beginning to finish everything was perfect. The staff, the food, the service. The host was very nice and friendly, so the waiters. I can't eat gluten, lactose and a few other things but they were so helpful and very knowledgeable about the allergies. (I asked one of the waiter who went to the kitchen, another guy came who works in the kitchen and showed me each item individually that I can have. I've never experienced this attention before.) - It was a relief not to explain what gluten is like other places. The quality of the food is exceptional, all the flavours just soo delicious. At the end of the meal they also made me fresh fruit without chilli as I asked them if it's possible since I don't like chilli on the fruit and they did it without hesitation.
