La Parrilla La Roca — Restaurant in Cancún

3 different times same order 3 different preparations. Bad chile rellenos and no offer of refund when not good.

The Parilla restaurant was recommended to me by the hotel (Hampton Inn) and is very convenient. 3 times I ordered enchiladas suizas and 3 times they came different.

First time I got the enchiladas and a mountain of tortillas (which I did not want really and threw them). Second time came with two small containers of refried black beans and some rice, as well as various salsas. Third time it came with no rice but with cheese, and some chips. No beans, no salsas, no rice and they added gooey cheese (which was tasty, but surprising). All 3 times it came with green salsa on top in a tortilla with mixed white and dark moist well seasoned chicken, so that was a consistency lol. Also you must tell them to give napkins and silver fyi. I would rather not tip going forward because for all my regular business, they are not paying attention. Even now I don't know what it really should come with lol

The chile relleno was horrible. I ordered twice and each time the pepper is hard and the cheese not melted (and cold). First time came with an expected sauce on it. The second time it came with no sauce. I told them after first bad relleno but they offered no refund. Second one was just as bad.

This restaurant really has a ways to go on developing a consistency of experience and they should drop the rellenos unless they learn to cook it - not too soft but not hard. Salsa is a good idea, if it is supposed to come with it...

So good! A little pricey though but the food is authentic and fresh. You can see the kitchen staff making your order right in front of you.

I ordered the mushroom quesadillas (highly recommend!) and the chicken tortilla soup (VERY DELICIOUS!). Our waitress didn’t speak a lot of english which made it sort of challenging but she was very patient and tried very hard to communicate with us and to make sure she got our order right. She was very sweet and kind for that. The staff overall is very nice and welcoming to all. The atmosphere was very clean and well kept with really fun decorations. Cant say enough good things about this place. First off, I have quite few food allergies including celiac disease. So usually going out to eat on vacation can be troublesome. NOT HERE!! not only was I able to enjoy just about everything on the menu, everything was freshly made. Portion sizes are huge!! And look as though most of the dishes are to be shared. Now the food kept us coming back, but what really was the shocker here was how cheap it was to eat here!! For 85 peso I would the chicken tacos and would leave with leftovers.. I'm 6'4 and 300lbs and even the left overs would feed me easily 2 more meals after. Will be going back...
