Living in Cancun almost 2 years and have to say I've never seen such a level of low class behavior and food in 2022. I walked in to the restaurant to be seated and two females were at reception. The blonde female gave me a dirty look like I didn't even belong at the establishment and gave the QR code scanner to the other women to take me to the table, which is inferring that she refused to seat me when I asked to have a seat by the marina. Would have not been the first time I've had someone with a low intelligence carry this behavior. I was respectful and dressed appropriately. So that was not a good way to start off my night to treat myself to some finer cuisine. I was seated and the waiter was fantastic and very kind and outstanding and left him a very generous tip. He made sure the food came out on time and checked on me if I needed anything. The food on the other hand was straight disrespectful as someone who has worked in restaurants see this particular chef has no motivation and or is around for a paycheck. He needs some type of remidation due to his attempt at chicken parm which was dried and chewy chicken that sat in the hot box most of the day. I sent it back and told him to make it fresh but very respectfully. He sends me back a fresh plate of chicken parm but it's burnt at the bottom which shows he did not only care about fixing the meal, but showing his discredit as a chef. I will say besides the two daiquiri's the night was terrible and I will return one last time to see if the service and food is better. To the receptionist: Understand that regardless of skin tone, Tattoos, and or background you are obligated to seat a customer and treat him like he's welcomed, not with such discrimination. You aren't the one to determine who gets seated and who doesn't at the end of the day we fund your paycheck so next time you have such a stuck up attitude like you own something just know I wake up everyday and decide what I want to do and have been financially set since I was 24 years old. I'm 26 now and yet you try and look down on me. If this is what fine dining is, I should just save my money and go enjoy the local street food as they will be more polite and the food exquisite. Till my next return this review will stay and have to say i dont recommend this restaurant...
Read moreI ate here with my wife and unfortunately, it's a tourist trap.
If you look at all other positive reviews, the vast majority are by brand new accounts with only 1 review, which is for this place. They all say a similar thing "service is excellent from Luis". I strongly suspect this business is buying fake positive reviews to make up for their bad food. Search by the lowest rated views & they reflect the true nature of this restaurant.
The place was empty. We got complimentary bread, that was nice! It came with roasted garlic in the clove. It was lukewarm and not seasoned, so it wasn't enjoyable.
Our main dishes were at our table in less than 5-10 minutes. Quick service is great, but I'm not sure how freshly prepared food can be that quick.
I got the chicken parm, with pasta. The pasta was actually delish and cooked perfectly! The chicken was fine, but greasy. It was covered with tomato sauce & chunky parm, which was a good way to disguise the chicken.
My wife's ravioli was completely overcooked and drowning in white sauce. It was inedible.
To be fair, we didn't mention our concerns while we were there. But a chef that is willing to send out ravioli as mush, doesn't care and is not a fixable issue.
This restaurant either needs to completely retrain their chef or hire a new one. My wife described it as a "Gordon Kitchen's nightmare", which is accurate.
We left no tip, which we never do. You could tell by the staffs reaction to this, that this is a common occurrence. The staff were friendly but if you have a bad chef, nothing can fix that.
This place would not survive if it wasn't in a tourist location. We fell for the suspected fake reviews as we were in a rush.
For the sake of your restaurant, hire a new chef as its obvious...
Read moreWhat a joke this place! If you want pasta that is well over done this your place to have dinner.
Our raviolis which are the “specialty of the house” looked liked they were a soup and broke apart not to mention not anyone of the 3 of us finished half our meal. What a disgrace to Italian cuisine.
We had a beef carpaccio that was good and a couple bottles of white wine that also were good and fairly priced.
But the pasta was a pure disgrace do yourself a favor and go to the Italian downstairs cenacolo and pay a little more but have a proper dinner.
Not to mention when we told the waiter which (isn’t his fault that the chef doesn’t know how to cook pasta) that the ravioli was like a soup he said he was sorry but they couldn’t even offer us coffee or dessert on the house and just looked at us dumbfund and didn’t know what to tell me.
Poor customer service just looking to make money on one dinner instead of taking care of people that live here and keep them afloat when it’s low season. Cause here only...
