McDonald's — Restaurant in Cancún

Ordered the cheddar bacon onion deluxe burger. This is a signature burger and supposedly it's supposed to be of higher quality and ingredients. Normally signature/premium burgers like this at a McDonald's come served in a recycled cardboard box like a Big Mac but for whatever reason at this McDonald's it comes in a paper wrapper like a kids meal cheeseburger would be wrapped in. On this visit apparently white cheese is cheddar and some liquid yellow cheese on the top is supposed to be the cheddar which is nothing like the photo shows. The photo shows two slices of dark yellow cheddar cheese, not white. Complete and disasterious preparation and presentation. The other McDonald's in La Isla hotel zone is even worse. Apparently McDonald's is considered a premium and "luxury" product/brand here in Mexico but the McDonald's in the States and Europe are ten times better quality than these ones we tried in Cancun. I don't know if it's just the Cancun McDonald's or if they're all like this in Mexico but the food doesn't taste like McDonald's. Is it just this franchise in Cancun or are other McDonald's in other parts of Mexico better because the two in Cancun are pretty bad. Their breakfasts are decent but the burgers and fries taste nothing like the real deal McDonald's in the States, UK or Canada. If i were you I'd just stick to their breakfast and forget trying their burgers because they just don't have the skill and wherewithal to make the fries and burgers how they're supposed to taste. Our fries tasted off too and were not prepared the correct way. We basically threw the food away after two or three bites it was that bad. Worst McDonald's experience ever. Well for the price the food will satisfy the taste buds and fill your stomach. I had the usual triple cheeseburger with fries and a coke. The coke is a joke because you ask for regular coke but these cheap McDonald's in Cancun only give sugar free and the come is flat. They don't put tops on the drinks, nor do they give a straw. If they do give a straw it is one made of paper. Its very unsatisfying and disfuncional. The service is terrible if it exists at all. They're all kids with no authoritative leadership. I stood at the counter for 6 minutes while I watched 5 McDonald employees sit around and talk and stare at me while I waited. They had delivered the food of 3 people who ordered after me because they forgot my order. The atmosphere appears clean but in reality it is not because the tables have not been properly whipped down. The floors have ketchup or trash. And the restaurant almost always stinks. Although i am not a big fan of this chain in general, i have to say this is probably the worst McDonald‘s i have ever been to. I would be very interested to hear the feedback of someone from their head office as i don‘t think this restaurant fullfills any of their standards. The critical points for a 2-star rating: After selecting Coke Zero at the terminal, i got a dark drink with a taste of applejuice. So i went back and they said: „Sorry - we don‘t have Coke available at the moment“. Really? No coke at Mc Donald‘s? The toilets were closed for ca. 30 minutes. After complaining about it, the toilets were opened again. Obviously the time was not used for cleaning…
