Mimo Pizza — Restaurant in Cancún

Ordered some take away-pizza from here. Pizzas were not very cheap (pepperoni pizza for 150 pesos), but they are really tasty and worth the money. The pizza was maybe a little bit too salty to my taste, but still delicious. The restaurant itself was very clean and modern. Airconditioning was definitely a bonus. The staff did not speak english (almost no one in Cancun downtown can speak english), but it was not a problem for me. In my opinion it would still be very helpful if the staff could learn at least a little bit of english. Very nice pizzeria! I totally recommend eating here or ordering takeaway food! Food is great, I'm pretty sure it's the best pizza I've had in Cancun. The chef's Italian and he truly has a love for his craft.

However, service is not great. Food took too long to get to the table despite the restaurant being half empty. I asked for a glass of water, but they didn't provide any.

After we were finished eating we felt that the waitress was pressuring us to leave. In a space of 20 mins we were asked twice if we wanted something else, which we declined. Again... Restaurant is half empty.

Then, she brought the tab to the table. As far as social norms go, in Mexico, bringing the tab when the clients didn't ask for it is considered to be very rude.

The bad service eclipsed what would have been an otherwise great...

i saw a reviewer say this was better than even the pizza in italy and i was very skeptical, but the review worked - it got me curious. i just tried this restaurant tonight. can safely say it is one of the best pizzas i have had in my life. i'm glad i brought my bestie (who's never travelled internationally yet until this trip) to start off the bar high for her.

i've been lucky enough to have eaten at some nice establishments before, so i feel like my standards are pretty tough. the hostess and waitresses are all very professional, accommodating, and welcome. it does not hurt the chef is as cute as he is talented 😉
