Toks — Restaurant in Cancún

The breakfast service started out great. The food was good, the cappuccinos excellent. Then our server seemed to become a different, much worse server. We finished our meal but she did not ever come back. Another server cleared our table when she noticed us waiting, but we kept sitting and waiting. Our server kept visiting her other tables all around us that were still eating. She saw us waiting at the empty table but ignored us. Finally after 40 minutes I was angry and walked up to her and asked for the check.

She brought the check but didn't apologize for the very long wait. I took the check up to the front. There was no line. Diana was the hostess standing at her station. I stood there holding my check and credit card and she ignored me. There was an empty cashier station across from her so I assumed that must be where people paid. I went to stand in front of it and waited several minutes. While Diana looked everywhere but at me and never spoke to me.

Finally a large group of about 10 people entered the lobby and all lined up in front of Diana to pay their individual checks. So SHE was the one taking payment also. And I had to then get at the end of that long line and wait several more minutes just to pay for my food. I watched Diana the whole time. She never smiled once. She never exchanged pleasantries with anyone and she only spoke the words absolutely necessary to function. Her facial expression looked annoyed and pouty. She was rude and unpleasant to everyone before me and then to me also.

I still tipped my waiter 20% and told the hostess buenas tardes, but I will never go back. I've never been to this restaurant before and had no idea how it worked. My own server and the hostess were both neglectful and rude. The only friendly person was a different server that cleared my table out of kindness. I waited tables for several years while in college. I treat restaurant staff with respect and tip well. Even though the food here is good and the furnishings are classy, eating here will likely come with rudeness and longer than necessary wait times. LAS BEBIDAS Y LA COMIDA INFANTIL DEBEN SALIR PRIMERO! Como un estándar en todo restaurante que hemos ido siempre por lógica deben llegar primero tus bebidas a la mesa y antes que la comida de los adultos , debe llegar la comida infantil cosa que no ocurrió en nuestra visita. Es una observación importante, ya que el restaurante debe mantener una calidad tanto de comida como de servicio en tiempo y forma! Un smoothie de Pepino con limón que tenían de recomendación en la mesa llegó hasta que ya nos habíamos terminado las entradas! ( por cierto, hay que probar esa bebida antes de que salga, a mi me supo amarga, talvez un pedacito de cáscara se batió junto) Una limonada y un smoothie de mango llegaron bien, pero esa tardó como 20 minutos en salir 🤔En la BARRA hay que estar preparados con todo lo que ofrecen !!! La comida infantil llegó después de las entradas también!!! En mi opinión, debería llegar primero con las entradas! Yo estaba comiendo y mi hija aun no 😵‍💫🙁 Bueno ahora voy con lo que sí me gustó! Tiene mucho espacio el lugar, aunque no estoy segura del tiempo de entrega de la comida en horas pico!! Ya que nosotros tuvimos ese inconveniente con los tiempos de entrega y el restaurante estaba muy tranquilo de gente !!! Habrá que ver! La comida 10/10 sinceramente era mi 2da visita y en esta ocasión sentímos mucho mejor sabor en los alimentos ,la calidad de ingredientes valen lo que pagas! Great ambience very positive energy staff is well trained and at your service. Must drink fresh orange juice highly recommend it.
