Le fate Comida italiana — Restaurant in Cancún

I have eaten here many times over many years, but I must say that last night, 29 Sept 24, the pizza was the worst I have ever had anywhere/anytime in my life. It was literally covered with easily over 100 slices of olives, and huge slices of mushroom. It was the vegetarian. I would give the food a 0, but 1 was the lowest option. The foto is of what went in the trash. The “street dogs” even walked away from it. LA FATE HAD A BAD NIGHT.

I’ll add that the owner HAS ALWAYS BEEN the most unfriendly proprietor that I can remember. He has NOT ONCE acknowledged me when I entered, nor thanked me when I left. The food & service are normally good. But after 20 years in Cancun, and being a loyal customer, I must say that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

My daughter tells me that I am “The Poster Boy For Brand Loyalty” but I’M DONE WITH THIS BRAND.

I only have myself to blame for this meal. I should have refused it and sent it back. Usually, owner , chef comes to ask, but didn’t. I had the black pasta dish with mussels and octopus, but the octopus was replaced by calamari, I knew that. Well, the dish had 2 mussels and 1 did not open.(that in itself was a bad signal that I didn’t act upon), 4 baby clams and 1 didn’t open, the calamari was unchewable . The black pasta was ok. I have eaten there before and the food and service was ok. Oh, I did tell the waiter about the dish that included 1 mussel. So, I guess the chef knew about not having the proper ingredients and served it anyway. 1 mussel…. I will not be back and I had mentioned this restaurant’s to many people in the past. The service was attentive and warm, the food was seasoned well and delicious. I highly recommend the prime rib dish. I substituted the fresh pasta and asked to add Alfredo sauce. It was divine. My husband got the chicken Alfredo and he finished every bite. We do not eat pork and the Alfredo sauce is made with pork. We requested it without and they made it for us. I requested an espresso martini even though it was not on the menu and explained how to make it, they made it perfectly. To finish, I ordered the flan. I love they mix Mexican drinks and desserts into their menu. The food was timely, the atmosphere was calm and enjoyable and the bread they served was delicious with a touch of garlic butter.
