El Lobo — Restaurant in Celestún

No recommendation, they absolutely did not deliver what was ordered. We went there tonight with four friends to eat. My friend is very allergic to milk and products containing milk (lactose intolerant). We asked at the entrance if it was possible to eat something there. It was they said. We asked when they took our order if the taco's were okay to eat for her. Order came, with mayonaise. We said that she couldn't eat it because of allergies, they brought ''new'' tacos for her 2min later. The mayonaise was just scraped off. Not okay if you have intolaranties. We asked for whole new tacos. Again, 2min later they brought it back. Looked okay, but it wasn't at all. She took 1 bite and felt something was wrong in her stomach. We looked closer and saw that the meat was cooked again, but the lettuce was re-used, WITH THE OLD MAYONAISE. This is not tolerated if you asked several times if it was okay and send it back multiple times. Side note: i asked for no pineapple on my burger, guess what, there was pineapple on my burger 😂 Please eat somewhere else if you want decent food and want your order...

This place got off to a bad start with us even though we had low expectations going in. The server didn't know what a "Margarita rocas" was, then served them (a long time later) to the wrong table (we just accepted the blended ones they eventually brought us). They didn't have "camaron pizza" (really? in this town?), so we ordered arrachera instead. After all that we were pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza was. Get off the beach and get on the square, or plaza if you like. Serving breakfast and dinner only, as no lunch or midday option is available, El Lobo is a treat. Sot upstairs on the rooftop over looking the plaza and take a little time out, watching the town do its thing. Its both pleasant and rewarding, the food is decent, no Michelin stars, but it will do the job no worries. The staff is warm and friendly, serving up your offerings with a smile.
